The scholar Karl Karmarsch founded Leibniz University of Hanover (LUH)  in 1831. It started with just 64 students. 

As one of the first science and technology institutes in Germany, LUH continues to raise its international profile. The university is a member of T9, the association of the oldest and biggest technical higher education institutions in Germany, and CESAER, a consortium of the most dominant European engineering schools. 

Since 2006, the institute, which was established as the Higher Trade School of Hannover, has carried the name of the German mathematician and philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, discoverer of the law of continuity and the transcendental law of homogeneity. 

The institution prides itself for offering more than 190 competitive full-time and part-time degree programs. Its research activities are conducted in 13 faculties. They cover a wide array of subjects such as architecture and landscape sciences; civil engineering and geodesy; economics and management; humanities and law. 

The university invests extensively in the establishment of cutting-edge facilities such as internationally recognised research hub Hannover Centre for Production Technology, which is a meeting point for production engineers from all over the world. 

LUH also boasts a large collection on publications in its library. This includes originals of valuable technical and scientific journals that were successfully preserved during the Second World War. 

Some of the university affiliates are German economist Erich Gutenberg, engineer Walter Brush and mathematician Carl Adam Petri. The institute follows the motto "Shaping the Future with Knowledge”.

Description The New York University Abu Dhabi Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) and Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seek to hire a new research assistant to work in any of the CIDSAI/CAMeL research areas, to be involved in the development of open-source tools and resources, and to work on publications related to their work.   The newly established CIDSAI’s mission is to produce research in data science and artificial intelligence. The  CAMeL lab’s mission is focused on research in Arabic natural language processing and computational linguistics.  The selected candidate will assist with specific projects in CIDSAI that involve Arabic NLP, and will be housed in the CAMeL Lab.  Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 180 publications and 20 language resources and tools.  The lab website is http://www.camel-lab.com/.  Google Scholar of the lab is at http://scholar.camel-lab.com/. The position will target the rank of Research Assistant (with BS or MS).  A strong preference is for individuals with (a) computer science or computer engineering degrees including previous experience in natural language processing or computational linguistics/language technologies degrees; (b) strong programming and software engineering skills, and machine learning experience; and (c) some research publication experience. Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred, but not required. Previous work on Arabic NLP is preferred but not required. The Lawyer, Intellectual Property, Research and Commercial Law will provide clear, practical and timely legal advice to primarily support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and the Research Portfolio progress the University's research and commercialisation activities. Working closely with stakeholders across the Research Portfolio-including Pre-Award and Pipeline, Post-Award (Grants and Contracts), Clinical Trial Contracts, Commercialisation and Investments-the successful candidate will manage and support senior lawyers with a diverse range of matters involving the review, drafting and negotiation of research and commercial agreements, support for strategic projects, commercialisation initiatives, and other legal issues as they arise. All work will be undertaken with a commercial and strategic mindset, aligned with OGC's Purpose and Strategy. The Lawyer, Intellectual Property, Research and Commercial Law will work under the direction and support of a Senior Lawyer in the Intellectual Property, Research and Commercial Law Team, and will collaborate closely with senior colleagues across the Team and the wider OGC, including the Director, Intellectual Property, Research and Commercial Law and the General Counsel. Description The Digital Heritage AI Project Cluster, housed within the newly established Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science at New York University Abu Dhabi, invites applications for a Research Assistant position. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering research initiative situated at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cultural heritage. The successful candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research and development in 3D computer vision and machine learning for the digital preservation of cultural heritage. The project focuses on state-of-the-art techniques such as Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) and Gaussian Splatting to reconstruct and render highly detailed and photorealistic 3D models of artifacts, historical objects, and cultural environments. These methods aim to advance global efforts in heritage conservation, virtual accessibility, and educational outreach. Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and optimize AI-driven pipelines for 3D reconstruction and rendering. Implement and evaluate neural rendering techniques using real-world digital heritage datasets. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers from computer science, digital humanities, and archaeology. Support data preprocessing, visualization, experiment documentation, and manuscript preparation. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline. Strong interest in 3D computer vision and machine learning methods. Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow). Familiarity with 3D data formats, graphics, and geometry processing. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with NeRF, Gaussian Splatting, or other neural rendering models. Knowledge of 3D reconstruction pipelines such as photogrammetry, structure-from-motion (SfM), or multi-view stereo (MVS).
