Kamianets-Podilskyi National Ivan Ohiienko University was originally established in 1918 as Kamianets-Podilskyi State Ukrainian University. In 1997 it became a state pedagogical university and in 2003 it gained the status of a state university. In 2008 it was renamed after Ivan Ohiienko, a Ukrainian Orthodox cleric, historian and linguist. As its name suggests, the university is located in Kamianets-Podilskyi, a city in western Ukraine. Kamianets-Podilskyi sits along the Smotrych River, which has formed a natural moat around the city. The university is divided into nine faculties: the faculty of economics, faculty of foreign philology, faculty of history, faculty of physics and mathematics, faculty of pedagogics, faculty of Ukrainian philology and journalism, faculty of natural sciences, faculty of physical training, and the faculty of correctional and social pedagogics and psychology. Each faculty is subdivided into a number of departments, which offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. The Office for International Cooperation oversees the university’s international activities. It is responsible for developing partnerships with other higher education institutions around the world to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. The university currently has partnerships with institutions in countries including Romania, Hungary, Turkey, Poland, and Lithuania. Students are given the opportunity to study abroad in these countries for a semester or a full academic year as part of the university’s Erasmus programme.

This will involve taking appropriate action in line with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property, whist also administering medical care if required. In addition, you will work on an agreed rota to support a wider range of essential operational functions, to support ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement of the business. These include, but are not limited to, Wildlife Management, Aerodrome Inspection Duties, and Operations. About You Cranfield Airport is focused on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, and therefore it is essential that you can demonstrate the required level of professionalism and a commitment to client care. In addition, you will need to show that you can adopt a flexible attitude to work, possess well-developed communication skills, and that you have the ability to work effectively within a closely-knit team environment. As a minimum to meet the requirements of this role, you must have a full valid UK driving licence, be medically fit and able to meet the required fitness standards for Firefighters, and be willing to undertake regular theoretical and practical training. Previous aviation firefighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority – CAA approved certification) would be an advantage, as would a LGV2 Licence. We are now looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow (PDRA) to develop and conduct individual and/or collaborative research projects, acting as principal investigator where appropriate. This is a 12-months fixed-term appointment under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, offering an opportunity to help shape an innovative research direction with strong potential for follow-on funding. You will support the development and application of quantitative and data-driven approaches to better understand complex and interdependent challenges affecting maritime and port systems, and to translate research outcomes into insights relevant to policy and practice. The work will contribute to evidence-based decision-making and the enhancement of safety and resilience in maritime transportation. Key responsibilities include: 1) contributing to the analysis of safety, security, and risk-related challenges in maritime transportation systems; 2) supporting the development and application of quantitative and data-driven models for assessing and predicting risks and system performance; and 3) assisting in the development, evaluation, and integration of frameworks that address safety, security, and resilience considerations. You should possess a good honours degree and a PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in Maritime transportation or Transportation Engineering relevant field. Applicants must demonstrate their research capabilities and ability to disseminate findings through high-quality publications in international journals and refereed conferences. Experience with research projects related to marine engineering and transport engineering is preferred. You will work with a team of 11 postdoctoral/doctoral researchers in this ERC project on container transport risk, resilience, and sustainability analysis within the Liverpool Logistics Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM) at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. 1 x full time, fixed term (15 months) position available Salary Academic Level B ($115,303 - $136,925) + 17% Superannuation Based at the City, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University About You The Research Fellow will collaborate with researchers at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP, CSIRO), as well as international colleagues in Japan and North America, to improve an existing model for the spread of Cyvirus cyprinidallo3 (also known as Cyprinid Herpes Virus or CyHV-3) as a biocontrol agent for common carp in Australia. The modelling will serve as part of the scientific basis for a decision from the Parliament of Australia as to whether the virus will be introduced into Australian populations of common carp. In this role, you will lead and/or contribute to high-quality research projects within your area of expertise. You will undertake innovative research that makes a meaningful impact in your field and builds your recognition at a national level.
