关于 Japan University of Economics

The Japan University of Economics is a private higher education institution based primarily in Dazaifu, Fukuoka, Japan.

Established in 1968 as an economics college, the university is run as part of the Tsuzuki Gakuen Group, a major network of higher education providers in Japan. Today, the university specialises in economics and business, but offers a wide range of courses within and related to those fields.

The university is based across three campuses: Fukuoka Campus in southern Japan, Sannomiya Campus in Kobe, and Shibuya Campus in Tokyo. Undergraduate teaching is split across five departments: economics, commerce, management law, management, and health and sports management.

Internationalisation is central to student life at the Japan University of Economics, and the university has the second largest population of international students in Japan. A dedicated International Exchange Centre provides social and practical support to overseas students, of which around 20 different nationalities are currently enrolled. The university also has partnerships with universities across Asia, Europe and the US.

Since 1996, the university has run an exchange programme with St. Anne's College at Oxford University and Fitzwilliam College at Cambridge University in the UK. Japanese students can apply to take part in a one-month summer exchange programme to experience life in the UK, with opportunities for additional English language study, sightseeing and cultural exchange.

Modern residential dormitories are available to students on the Fukuoka Campus – students have the option of single private dormitories either in the centre of the campus or a five minute shuttle bus ride away.

Students are encouraged to take part in the university’s active social scene, and a wide variety of cultural clubs and societies meet regularly across the three campuses, with interests including music, cinema, anime and photography.

Competitive sports clubs include football, basketball, sailing, kendo and volleyball. Fukuoka Campus also boasts one of the largest gymnasiums in Japan, as well as multiple outdoor sports grounds.

A number of volunteering groups are also run by the university, and students are encouraged to take part in local and international charity and cultural outreach initiatives.
