The School of Management and Technology at Leuphana University Lüneburg invites applications for the following endowed full professorship: Entrepreneurship (W3) In research and teaching, the professorship represents entrepreneurship as an interdisciplinary skill for the future – a creative, responsible, and action-oriented field that ranges from start-ups and spin-offs to self-employment and social, sustainable, and cultural innovations. With a view to the necessary knowledge, practices, and mindset of entrepreneurs, the professorship analyzes for example, different phases, practices, and processes of founding and entrepreneurship, the set-up and responsible management of a company, and the development and scaling of innovation-oriented business models. In addition, social dimensions such as the significance, responsibility, and transformative aspects of entrepreneurial activity are addressed and reflected upon. In doing so, you will be able to combine business, psychological, technological, and social science perspectives. For this position, we are looking for a committed personality with an excellent research profile in the field of entrepreneurship. Methodologically, you have strong analytical skills and sound quantitative and/or qualitative methodological knowledge. You demonstrate your research excellence through a continuous track record of publications in highly regarded international journals, as well as a promising publication pipeline and a viable publication strategy for the coming years. You have built up a lively network and are active in leading national and international scientific associations, conferences, and societies (e.g., AoM, SMS, EGOS, Babson). You have experience in conducting self-acquired competitive third-party funded projects, ideally also in cooperation with industry, as well as in leading (research) teams. In the area of teaching, we are looking for a person who can create an inspiring teaching and learning environment that prepares students for entrepreneurial activities in a methodical manner and also fosters the necessary mindset. You have experience in teaching subject-specific courses, ideally using innovative formats and teaching methods. Only one part of the teaching obligation within the professorship is to be fulfilled in undergraduate teaching. Therefore, you will develop additional innovative, practice-oriented teaching and transfer formats (e.g., incubators, idea competitions, coaching, entrepreneurship workshops). You will work closely with the emerging Entrepreneurship Center, the Start-up Service, SCHuB, and the Yunus Center. You would be willing to take on a creative role in the Entrepreneurship Center. You enjoy working with students and on practice-oriented projects with external partners. In addition, you are committed to supporting researchers in the qualification phase and have a track record of successful supervision. Most of our courses at the bachelor's and master's level are taught in English, so corresponding English language skills are expected. The professorship is embedded in an attractive, dynamic research, teaching, and innovation environment at the School of Management and Technology, where several professorships with different entrepreneurship foci are active. Formal requirements are based on § 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG), and include a university degree and a doctoral degree in a discipline relevant to the open position; your aptitude for teaching; and your ability to engage in independent academic research as demonstrated by the above-average quality of your dissertation; and other academic achievements obtained, i.e., in the course of being an assistant professor, during your postdoctoral lecture qualification (German: Habilitation) or other achievements recognized as being equivalent to a postdoctoral qualification. About the Role Join a 3-year NHMRC-funded project related to a novel gut-brain circuit that controls mood and behaviour as our Research Fellow, where you will have the opportunity to undertake research in the discipline of Human Physiology under the broad direction of the Chief Investigator. Working closely and collaboratively with the Chief Investigator and wider Research Team, you will be able to contribute to project design and implementation, the analysis of data and the preparation of manuscripts for publication. You will have the opportunity to actively report on new and current research related to the research program, through generation of high-quality publications and conference presentations. We are now looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow (PDRA) to join a short, focused research project in maritime transportation and shipping systems. This is a four-month fixed-term appointment under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, offering an opportunity to help shape an innovative research direction with strong potential for follow-on funding. You will contribute to the development of the conceptual and analytical foundations of a liner shipping model, undertake preliminary analysis, and support the translation of the work into a coherent, competitive research proposal aligned with UKRI and broader international maritime research priorities. Key responsibilities include: (1) assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of the project, (2) manage research resources, and contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations at project meetings and relevant conferences. You should possess a good honours degree and a PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in Maritime transportation or Transportation Engineering relevant field. A solid background in liner shipping modelling and resilience modelling of maritime systems is essential. You must demonstrate your research capabilities and ability to disseminate findings through high-quality publications in international journals and referred conferences. Experience with research projects related to maritime shipping routes modelling, risk assessment, and management is preferred. You will work with a team of 11 postdoctoral/doctoral researchers in this ERC project on container transport risk, resilience, and sustainability analysis within the Liverpool Logistics Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM) at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project, funded by Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), where you will be part of the research team to develop a scalable and comprehensive framework for formal verification of quantum programs. The framework consists of the following deliverables: Intermediate Language. We plan to develop an intermediate language to model quantum programs. The intermediate language would be complete to describe all the desired characteristics of quantum computing while at the same time simple enough to be understood by most programmers. Formal Verification Framework. We plan to develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in the proposed intermediate language. Mechanization. We plan to mechanize the formal framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. Proof Automation. We plan to develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools. Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: develop an intermediate language to write quantum programs. develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in our intermediate language. mechanize the verification framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools. Job Requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of formal methods (including theorem proving and model checking), quantum computing, and software analysis/verification. Have a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related areas. Possessing a Master degree will be advantageous.
