关于 Georgia Institute of Technology: Scheller

The Scheller College of Business, established in 1912, is the business school at Georgia Institute of Technology.

It began as the School of Commerce, and gained its current name in 2012 after an anonymous donation of $25 million in 2009, which would later be discovered to come from Ernest Scheller, when he donated a further $25 million in 2012.

Technology Square, an $180 million building project that houses Scheller, includes such developments as The Global Learning Center, the Advanced Technology Development Center, and the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.

The school prides itself on intimate class sizes, a flexible curriculum that promotes tailoring to each student, and strong ties to business across the country.

Scheller College of Business has partnered with Morehouse School of Medicine to offer a joint, five-year MBA/MD degree, in which students first complete their first three yeas as medical students before an intensive one-year, three-semester MBA programme before returning to finish the fourth year of their medical degree.

Located in the Midtown district of Atlanta, the state capital, Georgia Tech offers a lush 400-acre, tree-lined campus in the heart of the city, and is next to several major corporate headquarters such as The Coca Cola Company, AT&T and Earthlink.

Notable past alumni of Scheller include chairman, president and CEO of The Southern Company, a president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, a chairman and CEO of AT&T David Dorman and four-time NBA champion John Salley.
