关于 Fairleigh Dickinson University-College at Florham

Fairleigh-Dickinson University (FDU) is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit university. Its main campus sits between the towns of Florham Park and Madison, New Jersey, and is known as the Florham Campus. Historic Morristown and its Revolutionary War sites are a short distance away.

FDU was established by Dr Peter and Sylvia Sammartino in 1942, and was named after their main financial backer, the businessman Farleigh Dickinson.

The main faculties at Florham Campus are the Becton College of Arts and Sciences and the Silberman College of Business. Becton offers almost 60 majors in subjects ranging from dental medicine to graphic design. For graduates, there are master’s programmes in ten different art and science disciplines. Silberman covers fields from accounting to marketing, as well as awarding master’s in business administration (MBA).

The FDU Devils athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division III in nine men’s sports and 10 women’s sports. The women’s basketball team has consistently made it to tournament level. Students who are not members of the Devils can still enjoy access to the college intramural programme, which includes sports like volleyball, karate, flag football, street hockey and golf.

Florham Campus is a picture of typical American college life, with green lawns and red brick buildings. It was designed by the landscape architect behind New York City’s Central Park.

The university also has a campus in Teaneck, New Jersey, which runs several business and health care programmes.
