Ethiopian Civil Service University was founded in 1995 to support the transformation drive of the Ethiopian Civil Service within the context of the country’s development policies and strategies. The university aims to build the capacity of the civil service at both federal and regional levels through specialise education, training and research programmes. The university is located in Addis Ababa, the capital and largest city of Ethiopia. Academically, the university is organised into three colleges: the college of urban development and engineering, college of finance, management and development, and the college of leadership and governance. Within each college are a number of departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes that students can choose from. The university has developed a number of partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. Its partners include the Beijing Foreign Studies University, the French National School of Administration, and the Canadian Foundation for International Training. Research is carried out throughout the academic year in two dedicated research centres: the Centre for Public Reform and the Centre for Ethics and Integrity in Public Service.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Privacy, this role supports the responsible and compliant adoption of AI across the organisation. The appointments will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) (tenure-track) in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The anticipated start date is 1 July 2026, or a mutually agreed-upon date. Qualifications and requirements Applicants must hold a DVM (or equivalent) or a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. The successful candidates will contribute to laboratory-based and didactic teaching in veterinary anatomy and may contribute to other teaching activities in the DVM programme as required. Experience teaching large undergraduate cohorts in a laboratory setting is expected, and candidates should provide evidence of effectiveness in this context. Expertise in the comparative anatomy of common domestic species is required. UCVM's anatomy instruction is supported by a team of technicians and a fully equipped laboratory capable of producing teaching specimens using a variety of preservation techniques including large format plastination Experience in course leadership, development and management is an asset, and experience in supervising technical staff activities and creating teaching specimens is highly desirable. Appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) (tenure-track) requires evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness or competency in teaching and learning, an awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning. Engagement in the research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy is required. UCVM employs a Distributed Veterinary Teaching Hospital model. Clinical practice opportunities may be possible for qualified DVM candidates. Guidance and support will be given in establishing relationships with local clinics, based on desires and opportunities available. UCVM's AVMA accredited DVM program provides a comprehensive general veterinary education to approximately 100 students per year.
