Colorado Mesa University is the biggest higher education institution in the West of the state.

Established as a junior college in 1925, CMU is a public university in Grand Junction, in Colorado’s Mesa County. Grand Junction State Junior College, Mesa College and later Mesa State College, it acquired its current name in 2011, the year it was granted university status.

CMU has two campuses in Grand Junction, 40 miles from the Colorado-Utah border, and located in the western foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Its third campus is in Montrose, around 60 miles south east. Grand Junction’s name is down to the Colorado River meeting the Gunnison River in the city. The surrounding area and the city itself facilitate an extensive range of outdoor recreation activities, including skiing, mountain biking, golf, white water rafting, swimming, rock climbing, tennis and baseball. The 10,000-foot Grand Mesa, which overlooks the city, is the largest flat-topped mountain worldwide.

CMU has offered master’s courses since 1996. These include business administration, the first postgraduate degree it offered, and nursing. The majority of students own cars on campus.

Its students, which have topped 10,000 in number, are able to choose from more than 70 undergraduate programmes. Courses with the most applicants include criminal justice, biological sciences and business.

CMU’s list of alumni is particularly full of sports stars, including numerous National Football League and baseball players. Pitcher Sergio Romo has won the World Series twice.

About the Team/Service/Location This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-career Software Engineer to show strong leadership and progress your research goals. As Programme Lead for Software Engineering, this full-time role is expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as the supervision of honours, graduate and postgraduate students. The Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor will be expected to maintain professional associations, establish and promote collaborations with industry, and contribute to outreach events. Salary will be in the range of $113,428 to $148,799 for a Senior Lecturer, or $150,661 to $166,176 for an Associate Professor, per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Future ship and system design (FSSD) program develop strategic and innovative design capabilities for maritime industry in Singapore and beyond. The work package WP2.4 in FSSD will conduct research in the areas of autonomous system dynamic modeling, simulation, testing, data and video analytics, machine learning algorithms and platform programing. The testing will be done both in lab, reservoir/sea and onboard ships. The primary responsibility of this role is to work on and deliver the project together with P2-4 team and be part of the research team in the FSSD program. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Carry out any additional work tasks assigned by the supervisor. To communicate with any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.  Job Requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of system modeling, simulation testing for both hardware and software. Have a degree in engineering / applied physics, electrical, mechanical, marine, computer engineering or equivalent.  Key Competencies Good knowledge in system modeling, programming, simulations, data analytics. Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Show strong initiative and take ownership of work.
