Applications are now invited for the following post: Postdoctoral Fellow Division of Industrial Data Science (Post Ref.: 26/63) The main responsibilities of this post are to (i) conduct research and evaluation studies; (ii) collect and analyse data; (iii) draft manuscripts and write reports and; (iv) conduct research and submit papers to top philosophy journals; and (v) assist in teaching and handle administrative work and perform any other duties as assigned by the Person-in-charge or her delegates. The appointees are expected to submit applications for RGC grants, other local/overseas competitive grants and/or fellowship schemes. General Requirements Candidates should have (i) a PhD degree in data science or related field or an equivalent qualification; (ii) have experience in conducting research; (iii) interest in publishing high-quality journal papers in the field; and (iv) be able to complete projects on time with minimum supervision. Candidates should have obtained / been conferred a PhD degree or an equivalent qualification for no more than three years prior to the commencement of the appointment. Appointment The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. The Department of History of State and Law is a unit of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University that carries out educational and scientific research activities in the field of legal history and Roman law. In terms of teaching, it primarily delivers compulsory courses in Modern Czech and Czechoslovak Legal History, General Legal History and Roman Law, as well as compulsory elective courses in these fields. In the field of scientific research, the department focuses primarily on the issues of modern Czech legal history in its entirety, specifically the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and the period of socialism and the functioning of law under totalitarian regimes, as well as the history of legal science. The department’s research also includes studies in the field of Roman law and its institutions, including their legacy and influence on subsequent legal developments and contemporary law.
