Addis Ababa Science and Technology University was founded in 2011 under the Directive of the Council of Ministers.
As its name suggests, the university is located in Addis Ababa, the capital and largest city of Ethiopia.
Academically, the university is organised into five colleges: the college of applied sciences, college of architecture and civil engineering, college of biological and chemical engineering, college of electrical and mechanical engineering, and the college of natural and social sciences. Each college is divided into different departments, which offer a range of bot undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
The university has been given an International Research Grant to help fund its various research projects. Current projects include "Factors Affecting ICT Use by Visually Impaired Students in Ethiopian Public Universities" and the "Design and Implementation of Solar and Wind Hybrid Power Systems for Off-Grid Use".
There are three research centres at the university: the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre of Excellence, the Mineral Exploration, Extraction and Processing Centre of Excellence, and the High-Performance Computing and Big Data Analytics Centre of Excellence.

Engage and communicate with collaborators for progress meetings and report generation to meet the grantor's requirements. The candidate is to liaise and communicate with any internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met and to perform any other adhoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Job requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of project management, organizing documents, and facilitating report drafting. Have a degree in Food Science and Technology, Engineering or Science is a bonus. Some analytical work experience for texture analysis, food formulation and characterization, or publication is a bonus Detail-oriented person, able to communicate with industrial collaborators to share key findings, seek supports, or conduct commercial trials. Professor Rowbottom is now seeking Two Postdoctoral Fellows to join the project team over the course of one to two years. Details on the project, which involves scientists working with philosophers, can be found at www.pocfs.org. We are especially interested in candidates whose work connects with the natural sciences, and especially with recent developments therein (such as increased interdisciplinarity and the involvement of AI).
