In September 2023, THE will be releasing the first edition of the World University rankings under the new WUR 3.0 methodology. To support an institution looking to understand THE’s upcoming methodological changes, we will deliver an assessment of the new methodologies’ impact on your university’s performance.
THE Consultancy is able to offer a bespoke and confidential assessment of your institution’s performance across the five pillars and the distinct metrics that underpin the THE World University Rankings (WUR), with in-depth focus on the wider range of bibliometric measures that will be used going forwards.
Depending on your needs and whether your institution is currently ranked on the WUR, the consultancy output could include:
- A comprehensive overview of the new WUR 3.0 methodology and inclusion criteria used for the THE World University Rankings
- In-depth analysis of your institution’s performance in the THE World University Rankings benchmarked against your chosen five comparator institutions and/or against global and national averages
- A review of your institution’s results in THE’s Academic Reputation Survey.
- An impact assessment of your institution’s data linked to the WUR 3.0 methodological changes *
- An understanding of your institutions’ strengths and weaknesses
- Overall recommendations to support your institutional strategy
* Note that the impact assessment is made using a shadow ranking which is a simulation of WUR 2023 data (released in Oct 2022) using the new WUR3.0 methodology. The shadow ranking is not a forecast of future performance. Therefore, no predicted overall rank and score will be provided.
Deliverables would either be a virtual presentation (PowerPoint slides and a recording of the session will be provided to clients) or a written report. As the analysis can only begin from Nov 2022 onwards, the expected delivery is early 2023.
