For this faculty position, we are looking for candidates with a background in business, communication or design, who have extensive experience in sustainability management. Essential 8 or more years of industry and/or applied academia experience and knowledge in enhancing environmental sustainability through sustainability management. Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of sustainability measurement and management, such as life cycle analysis, circular economy, sustainability road mapping (e.g., decarbonisation for net-zero transition), sustainability change management, and organisational sustainability strategy development. Knowledge in sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, carbon markets, and regulatory developments. Motivated to lead, develop and teach curriculum related to sustainability both for pre-employment learners and continuous education and training. Proven ability to develop sustainability solutions through applied projects. Desirable Experience in sustainability related projects with strong integration of the three pillars of sustainable development. Knowledge in sustainability-related technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage, as well as business practices and models such as carbon trading and circular economy. Expertise in carbon accounting and carbon compliance rules (e.g., Greenhouse Gas  (GHG) Protocol, ISO 14064, Singapore’s Carbon Tax Regime). Knowledge and experience in sustainable finance. Experience in industry-academia partnership projects, such as capstone or research projects. Experience in the development of a Community of Practice (COP) that brings together academia, industry, and public stakeholders. Successful candidates will join the Business, Communication and Design (BCD) Cluster (one of five academic clusters in SIT), as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and deeply involved in industry transformation through applied research programmes. Description NYU Abu Dhabi Community Programs oversee multiple initiatives, including the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Community Programs, which consist of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program and the NYU Abu Dhabi Summer Academy. In addition, NYU Abu Dhabi Community Programs administer the Arab Film Studio Young Filmmakers Workshop and the NYU Abu Dhabi PhD Pathways Program. The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program offers a select cohort of talented university students access to specially designed courses, lectures, leadership experiences, networking, and graduate school counseling. We admit scholars from among the most outstanding students at the three federal UAE universities: Higher Colleges of Technology, the United Arab Emirates University, and Zayed University. The Scholars Program has been developed in close consultation with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE federal universities, and New York University Abu Dhabi. The NYU Abu Dhabi Summer Academy is an 18-month university preparation program designed to enhance the academic profiles of highly motivated Emirati high school students. The program features intensive instruction in Leadership and Public Speaking, Critical Thinking and Writing, Mathematical Reasoning for the Sciences, College Readiness and Success, and IELTS Preparation over the course of two summers and an intervening academic year. The Arab Film Studio Young Filmmakers Workshop, a collaboration between Image Nation Abu Dhabi and NYU Abu Dhabi, is a three-week program for Emirati high school students that enables and enhances filmmaking skills. Participants from across the UAE are exposed to the teachings and experience of leading industry professionals. From screenwriting, and directing to camera and post-production, the three weeks come to a close with a screening of a collection of short films that are written and directed by the participants. The NYUAD PhD Pathways Program, is a first of its kind in the UAE, NYUAD’s PhD Pathways Program aims to address the challenge of underrepresentation of Emirati PhDs and professors in higher education, through enhanced and early access to research experience, mentorship, skill acquisition, exploration of research careers, and graduate school preparation. Principal Responsibilities The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program (SMSP) Serve as a Public Speaking and Public Presentation instructor or Teaching Assistant as required Lead the coordination and organization of guest speakers, leadership activities, and workshops. This includes inviting distinguished leaders or speakers, arranging their visits, and planning engaging leadership activities to enhance the learning experience for the scholars during experiential learning weekends or as required, according to the SMSP academic calendar. In this pivotal role, you will shape and drive the academic and operational direction of our Building and Design programs, ensuring they align with RMIT's Strategic and Business Plans while staying ahead of industry trends. You will champion the creation and delivery of cutting-edge learning experiences-developing innovative curriculum, resources, and teaching solutions that inspire students and respond to the evolving needs of the design and construction sectors. As a leader, you will manage and mentor a dedicated team of educators, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and workload planning to support a collaborative and high-performing environment. You'll also build strong relationships with industry partners and work closely with colleagues across RMIT, especially academic and professional staff, to ensure our programs remain relevant, future-focused, and aligned with vocational competency standards. You will actively engage in professional activities and encourage your teaching team to maintain and grow their industry expertise. To be successful in this position, you'll have:   Capacity to effectively lead and manage a team of staff in the design, implementation and evaluation of innovative teaching materials, products and services. Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed. Effective organisational skills in the planning, development, implementation, operation and review of programs to achieve a quality-learning environment for students and staff. A sound knowledge and understanding of the vocational education and training sector, and of the training requirements of relevant industries and ability to meet these needs through program design and assessment. Capacity to implement strategies to cater for differing learning styles and approaches to study including gender and cultural influences, and the needs of disadvantaged groups. Highly developed interpersonal communication, leadership, negotiating and educational counselling skills that will enable success with students, industry clients, peers and management. Demonstrated skills in the use of information and communication technologies. An understanding of resource management issues, including finance, facilities, management, OHS, Equal Opportunity and Industrial Relations.
