Otterbein University is a private liberal-arts institution located in Westerville, Ohio. First founded by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ in 1847, the university today still draws much of its educational ethos from evangelical Christianity.
Otterbein University is primarily located on a 140 acre campus, 20 minutes’ drive north of the city of Colombus. The university campus has a number of different themed residence halls for first year undergraduates. As well as this, Otterbein offers a flexible range of meal plans, so that students can make the most of the numerous dining options on campus. In addition to this, a number of small apartment complexes are available on campus for older students, and provisions are also made for mature students and sometimes even families.
In terms of academic offerings, the university has over 60 different majors and minors available for undergraduates. These programmes are arranged into a large number of different departments, reflecting the eclectic mix of subjects on offer at the university. The university also offers graduate programmes, such as MBAs in things like nursing and education, although the overall scope of these is far narrower than the range of undergraduate options.
Like many similar institutions, Otterbein University runs its own competitive athletics teams. Known as the Cardinals, they compete in NCAA Division III across a number of different sports, including baseball, American football, cross country, track and field, basketball, lacrosse and many more. In addition, the university also maintains a number of different athletics facilities.
Some famous alumni of Otterbein University include the composer Benjamin Hanby, and the Police Academy actor David Graf.

About Us The GSTT Asthma Service based at Guy’s Hospital is home to the largest cohort of severe asthma and EGPA patients receiving biologic therapies in the UK offering a unique opportunity to take part in translational research in these diseases. The Jackson Lab within the Peter Gorer Department of Immunobiology, SIMS is focussed on (i) exploring the role of eosinophilic and T2 inflammation in asthma and related conditions both in the stable state and during exacerbation (ii) understanding the mechanisms that underpin the heterogeneity in response to anti-T2 therapies in asthma and conditions including EGPA and eosinophilic pneumonia. Over the last 5 years the Jackson Lab has obtained over £5m in grant funding and published over 50 original research manuscripts. About the role This role is for a clinically trained scientist with experience of bioinformatics in the field of asthma. They will be joining a well-established and highly productive clinical and translational asthma research group at King’s College London based on the Guy’s Hospital Campus. This group is closely integrated into the regional NHS Severe Asthma and EGPA clinics allowing access to airway and blood samples from a large cohort of patients. This group has led on several large multicentre phase 3 and phase 4 clinical trials of biologic therapies in asthma as well as real world studies of biologic therapies in EGPA. The applicant requires a thorough understanding of respiratory immunology and particularly eosinophilic and T2 immune pathways as it relates to asthma and other T2 driven diseases. The scientist should also have prior first-hand experience of performing bioinformatics on airway samples from asthma patients. This is a full-time post 35 hours per week, and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 12/01/27. Join the CoSTAR National Lab’s audio team to pioneer generative AI within interactive and immersive technologies in CVSSP at the University of Surrey, a global community dedicated to life-changing education and research. The role This post investigates generative AI for sound design in content production, contributing both academic publications and practical demonstrations of immersive/interactive technology with CoSTAR. It is initially fixed-term upto May 2028 (extensible subject to funding). The role is based at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP, University of Surrey), which researches machine perception for the benefit of society through technological innovations in healthcare, security, entertainment and robotics. CVSSP is internationally renowned and ranked first in UK research for computer vision and audio-visual AI, enabling award-winning technologies for content production in TV, film, games and immersive entertainment. In 2021, CVSSP founded Surrey’s Institute for People-centred Artificial Intelligence (PAI). PAI drives AI activities for the CoSTAR National Lab for R&D in Creative Technology, led by Royal Holloway (University of London), a £51m investment by UK Government to give the UK's screen and performance industries globally competitive infrastructure.
