Your personal sphere of influence: We are looking for international early-career researchers interested in pursuing doctoral research in areas such as cognition, behaviour, and environmental change from a social-science perspective. Suitable projects may focus, for example, on behavioural research, social and cognitive processes, human-environment relations, sustainability-related social research, or related interdisciplinary approaches clearly situated within the social sciences. Successful candidates will join a structured doctoral programme offering first-class supervision, vibrant research networks, and opportunities to publish, teach, and engage internationally. Candidates can select from a cross-faculty list of supervisors and doctoral schools (available on the Call website ) to match their doctoral project idea. Your future tasks: Prepare a highly original and internationally competitive PhD thesis in your designated field. Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present your research at international conferences. Design and teach university courses and supervise students according to the requirements specified in the collective agreement for predoctoral researchers. Complete the public presentation of your PhD thesis within one year of your contract starting date. This is part of your personality: You can apply if you are a highly qualified graduate who: will have completed a Diploma or Master’s degree by 30 June 2026 in a field covered by one of the participating doctoral schools or a closely related discipline; demonstrates a strong interest in academic research and in pursuing a PhD at the University of Vienna; can clearly assign their proposed dissertation project to the research focus of one of the participating doctoral schools; is able to take up the doctoral position between 1 July and 1 October 2026; and meets the doctoral admission requirements of the University of Vienna by the start of employment. As a Domestic Student Recruitment Coordinator, (known at Flinders as Prospective Student Coordinator), you will use your practical understanding of community liaison, recruitment, and marketing to inspire and engage an audience interested in pursuing foundation studies, undergraduate or postgraduate studies. In this multi-faceted position, you will manage the lead generation, nurture and conversion of prospective students while coordinating a range of community outreach activities with external organisations, such as schools, to achieve Domestic Student targets. The key position responsibilities are: Responding to inquiries from prospective students regarding career options, pathways, course and entry requirements. Undertaking project work to plan, develop and coordinate new and continuing initiatives to assist in the recruitment of students. The University of Southampton is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in gravitational-wave astronomy. The successful candidate will join Greg Ashton’s STFC-funded programme, Advancing Gravitational-Wave Astronomy Using Artificial Intelligence, to work on computational Bayesian inference methods and their astrophysical applications. Southampton's School of Mathematical Sciences is home to a large research group in gravitational physics, comprising 9 staff members, over 15 postdoctoral researchers, and approximately 15 PhD students. Research in the group includes black-hole and neutron-star physics, gravitational-wave source modelling and data analysis, gravitational self-force modelling and numerical relativity. The group is involved in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the LISA Consortium, the Einstein Telescope collaboration and the Cosmic Explorer consortium. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of research in gravitational-wave astronomy. The applicant will have, or be about to obtain, a relevant PhD degree in physics or mathematics. This is a full-time post, available from the 5th of January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is funded for two years with the possibility of a 1-year extension.
