Located in the town of New Haven, SCSU is a liberal arts and research based institution first opened in 1893, making it the third oldest campus university in the state. New Haven’s tree planting programme has given it the nickname of the ‘Elm City’, and education is at the centre of the town’s economy, also hosting the world famous Yale University.

Academics at SCSU is is divided among five schools; Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Health & Human Services, and Graduate studies. The graduate school at SCSU is one of the largest in New England, offering 55 areas of study. The department of Nursing at SCSU provides a four year undergraduate degree programme, an accelerated career entry programme, and an online RN to BS scheme.

Werth Centre for Coastal and Marine Studies makes uses of both SCSU’s urban locale and wide variety of natural habitats, engaging students in interdisciplinary research and education projects. Since 2016 the Southwest Ledge Lighthouse has been incorporated as an SCSU facility and is available for use by marine science students.

Athletics teams at SCSU are known as the Owls, and compete in the NCAA Division II. There are seven men’s sports programmes and ten women’s, which include lacrosse and softball. Opened in 1988, the Dow Field is an extensive facility that can accommodate football, soccer, field hockey and track, seating an audience of up to 6,000.

The Multicultural Centre was established in 1991 and aims to celebrate all ethnic communities on campus. Diversity speakers and presentations are hosted at the centre throughout the year.

Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A Master’s degree in Radiography or related field. Possessing a PhD will be an added advantage. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the acute / community / other clinical rehabilitation setting. Possess clinical experience and competence in Radiography. Having expertise in general radiography or other area of specialization (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Angiography and Fluoroscopy) is preferred. Knowledge and experience in working with simulated healthcare institution and community environment and educational manikins will be advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.  Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

The African Genome Center (AGC) invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in Environmental OMICS. This position focuses on the application of high-throughput OMICS approaches (genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) as well as metabarcoding to investigate biological systems within environmental contexts. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing our understanding of microbial, plant, and ecosystem-level processes that drive environmental function, resilience, and sustainability. Applicants should demonstrate strong expertise in analyzing OMICS data generated from environmental samples, enabling insights into biodiversity, community structure, functional potential, and ecosystem processes. Experience in integrating multi-omics datasets and linking molecular data with environmental, ecological, or biogeochemical variables is highly desirable. About Us The TOUR (Transforming cancer OUtcomes through Research) team is committed to improving patient outcomes by translating oncology research into clinical practice, with a strong emphasis on patient-centred care and quality of life. Led by Professor Mieke Van Hemelrijck, the team includes a diverse group of researchers—spanning qualitative and quantitative disciplines—alongside clinicians, students, research nurses, and trial coordinators. Together, they work across a wide range of translational oncology projects, with a particular focus on the development and implementation of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). A key strand of TOUR’s work involves collaboration with the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Group, where the team contributes to the development and validation of tools to assess health-related quality of life in cancer patients. These projects often involve international partnerships and span a variety of cancer types and treatment contexts. This post will support the studies with the EORTC as well as a collaborative quality of life research project with The Royal Marsden Hospital, focusing on the integration of patient perspectives into cancer care. The successful candidate will be based within the TOUR team and will hold an honorary contract with The Royal Marsden, enabling access to data and facilitating close collaboration with clinical and research colleagues across both institutions.  About the role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join the TOUR (Transforming cancer OUtcomes through Research) team at Guy’s Cancer. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to internationally recognised research focused on improving the quality of life for people living with and beyond cancer. The role will involve close collaboration with clinical teams and international partners, including the EORTC Quality of Life Group, to ensure that patient perspectives are meaningfully integrated into cancer care and research. The successful candidate will also support a collaborative project with The Royal Marsden Hospital, with a specific focus on the development and implementation of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and identified supportive care needs. Reporting to Professor Mieke Van Hemelrijck and the senior TOUR team, the post holder will be responsible for providing administrative and project management support across the quality of life research portfolio. Key responsibilities include coordinating ethics submissions, supporting patient recruitment and qualitative interviews, managing study documentation, and assisting with data collection and analysis. The role will also involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in health, psychology, or a related discipline who is passionate about patient-centred research.
