California State University-Stanislaus (Stan State) is a public coeducational university located in the city of Turlock in California and is a member of the California State University system.

Founded in 1957, Stan State moved to its current 228-acre site in 1965 and has a student body of more than 9,000.

Notable buildings include the 320-seat Bernell and Flora Snider Music Recital Hall, an Aquatic Facility, the Vasche Library and the 19-acre Student Recreation Complex which is home to a fitness centre and a 2,300-seat sports stadium. The Stockton Center at University Park in Stockton is the Stan State off-campus facility, with an enrolment of around 400 students.

Stan State is comprised of four major colleges – the College of Science, the College if Business Administration, the College of Education, Kinesiology and Social Work, and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The university offers more than 100 undergraduate degree programs, as well as 24 master’s degree courses and a doctorate in educational leadership. It is also the only university in the California State University system to offer a bachelor’s program in cognitive studies.

More than 50,000 students have graduated from Stan State over the years, including notable former students Gary Condit, who served in the House of Representatives from 1989 to 2003, as well as professional baseball players Rusty Kuntz and Steve Andrade, and former professional golfer Doug Dunakey.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the project “Rare Earth Element Valorisation and Extraction in Vietnam: An Integrated Sustainability Approach” which addresses Vietnam’s strategic need for environmentally responsible and low-carbon pathways for rare earth element (REE) recovery and processing. The project integrates computational modelling, experimental research, fieldwork and appropriate sustainability tools (eg life cycle assessment) to evaluate and develop sustainable REE extraction routes. The postdoc will work on the molecular-level understanding and design of functionalized adsorbents for selective REE recovery from dilute or complex matrices. In addition, the postdoc is expected to conduct experimental and field-based investigations of biomass-assisted and nature-based extraction approaches in Vietnam. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to: Apply computational models (or collaborate with computational experts) for REE–adsorbent interactions. Perform or co-develop environmental impact analyses for REE processing routes. Design and conduct laboratory experiments and selected fieldwork related to biomass-based REE extraction in Vietnam. Analyze and integrate experimental, modeling and environmental-based data to develop sustainability insights. Co-supervise students and contribute to the overall research culture of the group. Present research findings at conferences, workshops and meetings. QUALIFICATIONS PhD in Materials Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Applied Chemistry or related discipline. Strong record of publications in Journal Citation Indexed (JCR) journals. Qualification or experience in any of the following disciplines: Life Cycle Assessment, Density Functional Theory or Materials Experimentation & Characterization. About the role King’s College London’s Simulation and Interactive Learning Centre is seeking a Simulation Education Specialist to support the delivery of high-quality, clinically relevant simulation-based education across the Health Faculties. This professional services role acts as a key link between the centre and academic colleagues, helping to translate curricular and clinical requirements into practical, well-designed learning activities that meet recognised standards of simulation practice. You will play a central role in planning, coordinating, and delivering simulation sessions that are educationally sound, operationally feasible, and provide meaningful learning outcomes for students and staff. The post holder will develop, maintain, and manage centre-specific educational resources, documents, and repositories, including exploring opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and resource tracking. By capturing the educational demand from faculties, you will help inform service planning, centre resource development, and potential research initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of simulation-based education across King’s Health Faculties. You will provide guidance on best practice in simulation pedagogy, support faculty colleagues in session design, and ensure all activities comply with quality assurance processes and clinical standards.
