Reporting to the Principal and Vice-Chancellor and working as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Vice-Principal will lead institutional strategy and policy for enterprise, innovation and civic engagement ensuring the University makes a strong contribution to regional prosperity and economic growth. The Vice-Principal will provide strategic and operational leadership across the regional engagement and innovation portfolio, embedding enterprise and civic impact within School Plans and wider institutional activity. Working closely with internal and external partners, the role will ensure alignment between new ventures, regional initiatives and the University’s Aberdeen 2040 strategy. Key responsibilities include overseeing delivery of the University’s Knowledge Exchange and Innovation Fund (KEIF) strategy; representing the University within the regional, national and international enterprise and innovation ecosystem; and leading engagement with major initiatives such as the Aberdeen City Region Deal and the North East Scotland Investment Zone. As an anchor institution, the University of Aberdeen plays a central role in the economic, social and cultural life of the North East of Scotland. Description The Applied Interactive Multimedia laboratory in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a motivated research or postdoctoral associate to lead the design, development, and validation of material, control systems, and algorithms for next-generation soft haptic actuators and experiences. Note that the research involves significant interactions with collaborators in material science. The developed technologies will be utilized to develop digital twin and soft robot-assisted simulations in the areas of brain machine interaction, wearable haptics, and rehabilitation. The successful applicant will have the following technical experience in: PhD degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Material Engineering (or related field) OR 3-5 years of industry experience (Research and Development). Significant experience in haptic technologies. Hands-on Lab Building and Rapid Prototyping of Novel Proof of Concepts (Extensive on-site lab work). Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Masters in Translation and Interpretation (MTI) programme within the School of Humanities at NTU Singapore invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Translation, beginning on August 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The postholder will help particularly help growth of research and teaching in AI translation within the Translation and Interpretation programme, and participate in NTU Singapore’s Digital Humanities, Arts and Social Science initiatives. Demonstrated ability or strong potential to teach relevant courses at university level. Excellent command of English with any Asian languages; additional working languages are an asset. Able to work independently and to collaborate with cross-disciplinary research clusters Relevant publication track record Desirable Qualifications Experience integrating AI tools in translator training (e.g. MT post-editing, terminology extraction, quality assurance). Experience with industry-standard translation technology (e.g. CAT tools, TMS platforms). Evidence of successful grant applications or participation in funded projects. Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and with industry partners.
