The University of Lisbon (ULisboa ) was founded in 1911. In 2013, it joined forces with the Technical University of Lisbon, making it the largest university in Portugal and a leading one within wider Europe.

Comprising eighteen faculties, ULisboa offers 400 degree programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The university has received international recognition over the years, and participates in a number of mobility programmes including Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus and Tempus.

It also accepts more than 5,000 international students – around 10% of its total cohort – who represent 100 different countries between them. With a view to attracting greater numbers of international students, many of ULisboa’s courses have started being taught in English.

ULisboa is also home to 18 schools and more than 100 research units, supported by 4,000 academic staff. 

University accommodation includes nine student residencies, which assist with integrating international students into the local culture and works with other universities to promote collaboration.

It hosts wide range of cultural events on an annual basis, including exhibitions, concerts and conferences. It is also affiliated with a number of local museums in such fields as geology, anthropology, zoology and astronomy.

As the capital of Portugal, Lisbon offers history and culture, shopping, restaurants, nearby beaches and a vibrant nightlife.

ULisboa prides itself on being deeply involved with Portuguese society and the Lisbon metropolitan area, dedicated to making the city one of European’s great capitals of culture and science.

As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so. About the role: We are recruiting a proactive Senior Records Officer to deliver professional and efficient administrative support as part of a comprehensive, professional, and student-centred service. Successful candidates will be well-organised, good communicators, have administration experience and possess excellent IT skills. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to manage and improve systems and processes that support the student administrative lifecycle, and who wish to utilise their skills and expertise in student administration. This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 12 months, until 02/03/2027. About you: To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria Relevant work experience and/or education: We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. Relevant educational experiences might include higher education in a related discipline, professional qualifications or other training.  Excellent attention to detail and an eye for accuracy. Description We are seeking researchers who are passionate about Data Science, with an emphasis in Computational Social Science, with a starting date of September 1, 2026. Some of the possible research topics include: (i) social media analysis, (ii) collaboration and teamwork, (iii) gender inequality, (iv) diversity, (v) online controlled experiments, and (vi) network science. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and hard-working with a Masters degree in Data Science, Computational Social Science, Computer Science, or Information Science, or a bachelor’s degree with several years of experience and expertise in their field. The position requires experience with at least one of the following: Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Social Science, Big Data. Relevant skills could include statistical analysis, data management and collection, causal inference, network analysis, graph theory, visualizations, and online tool development. Experience in conducting online controlled experiments is also desired, but not required. Excellent communication skills in English, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential. Selected candidates will be working closely with Bedoor AlShebli, an Assistant Professor in Computational Social Science in the Social Science Division at NYUAD. The selected candidate will receive an appointment for three years. The position provides salary higher than internationally competitive rates for Post-Doctoral / Research Engineering / Research Associate positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions.
