Burapha University is the first public higher education institution located in the eastern part of Thailand. At present, it is an autonomous university located in Tambon Saensuk, Province Chonburi. Burapha University is the public university with the highest potential in the eastern region of Thailand, offering various programs from Bachelor Degree to Doctorate Degree with a wide range of majors, including, health sciences, science and technology, humanities and social sciences.

 

Burapha University has three campuses, which together cover about 1,353.35 acres (5.48 km2) of land :

  • Burapha University, Chonburi Campus (Main Campus), Mueang District, Chonburi Province established in 1955.[6]
  • Burapha University, Chanthaburi Campus, Ta-Mai District, Chanthaburi Province established in 1996.[7]
  • Burapha University, Sakaeo Campus, Wattana Nakorn District, Sa Kaeo Province established in 1997.[8]

 

In addition, the university contains service centers such as the Institute of Marine Science, whose aquarium is a major tourist attraction, the Library Center, the Academic Services Center, the Computer Center, and the University Hospital, which provides extensive medical services to the surrounding community.

 

Burapha University is an important center for research and innovation of Thailand’s eastern coast and the strategic university of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) which is the special economic hub of Thailand. Owing to research in various fields such as science, engineering, medicine and social science, Burapha University has been continuously collaborating with regional and international industries. At all events, the research interest varies from the level of applied research to meet industrial and national policies, to frontier and basic researches to create knowledge that is the foundation for further development.

About the role We are looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy to work within the School for Government at King’s. This role will be a senior member of the academic staff of the school and contribute to the academic life of the School, as well as the wider Policy Institute, of which we are a part. The candidate will be expected to have, and to build, an active research pipeline in their chosen field. They will be supported to bid for and deliver research grants and contracts and will also be encouraged and supported to supervise doctoral students, and to play an active and leading role in the Policy Institute’s Doctoral Programme, Executive Education programmes, or another strategic domain. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs. Job Requirements A good degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related fields. Possessing a Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering environment. Have deep, hands-on competence in the following areas: High voltage switching Engineering design, modelling & analysis of conventional power, wind & solar farms Engineering design of transmission & distribution substations, electrical distribution systems of industries and commercial buildings Power system protection application and relay coordination Digital/Analogue/Power electronics IoT/Micro-controller application It will be advantageous with working knowledge of/as: Knowledge in programming/using Python, MATLAB, LTspice, IoT platform.
