First Impressions

This week's competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from an author who was on the side of angels:

"Along the western slopes of the Oregon Coastal Range ... come look: the hysterical crashings of tributaries as they merge into the Wakonda Auga Rivers ... ".

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is November 26.

The winner of last week's competition, who identified Dante's Divine Comedy : Paradiso, was Gill Abrahams of Kings Lynn.
