First Impressions

This week's competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from a novel described on its publication by one reviewer as an "epic of vice":

"Ursula and Gudrun Brangwen sat one morning in the window-bay of their father's house in Beldover, working and talking."

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is August 1.
