First Impressions

This week's competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from a novel that was made into a film in 1973:

"The first time I laid eyes on Terry Lennox he was drunk in a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith outside the terrace of The Dancers."
