This week's competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, comes from a book that features a xanthic thoroughfare: " Dorothy lived in the midst of the great kansas prairies, with Uncle Henry, who was a farmer, and Aunt Em, who was the farmer's wife ."
