First Impressions competition: 7 February 2008

This week’s competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from a book about a small town who find their way of life threatened, with fatal consequences:

"They shoot the white girl first."

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is February 13 2008.

The winner of last week’s competition, who identified Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre, is Solange Thomas from Hammersmith in London.
