First Impressions competition: 21 August 2008

This week’s competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from a novel addressing post-civil-war American Black identity:

"Psychics can see the color of time it's blue."

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is August.

The winner of the last competition, who identified Notes From The Underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky, is Nick Croft of Todmorden.
