Final Word

This week's Final Word comes from an early work of science fiction by an author who hailed from Bromley:

"And strangest of all it is to hold my wife's hand again, and to think that I have counted her, and that she has counted me, among the dead."

The winner of December 22's competition, who correctly identified Flora Thompson's Candleford Green , the last part of her Lark Rise to Candleford , is Philip Bellamy of Plymouth.
