Final Word

This week's Final Word comes from the work of an author and poet who was the first English writer to receive the Nobel prize for literature in 1907:

"He crossed his hands on his lap and smiled, as a man may who has won salvation for himself and his beloved."

The winner of last week's competition, who correctly identified Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe , is Judith Purver of Manchester.
