Amit Chakma, vice-vhancellor of the University of Western Australia highlights the need for universities to take advantage of the changes that have occurred in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and that, he anticipates, will help create a new world.

He emphasises the opportunity universities have to take advantage of creative minds that can strengthen both present and future approaches to problem solving.

Professor Chakma believes that a return to the fundamentals of research and teaching, particularly through a focus on the student experience, will lead to greater success in higher education.

This renewed commitment to the student experience, Professor Chakma notes, will also strengthen both local and global communities.

He is optimistic about the students of today and how they will approach the challenges of tomorrow.
