Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics was established in 1974. The university is centred around finance and economics with focuses on science, engineering, liberal arts, law, arts and philosophy. There are four campuses, with the main campus located in the city of Hangzhou, China. The university’s first campus buildings were rented from silkworm producing farms in Qibao Town. Upon its founding, the university was known as the Zhejiang College of Public Finance and Banking, however in 1987 the university was renamed with approval of the former State Education Commission and in 2013 its current name was officially adopted in line with the Ministry of Education’s approval. The university began offering bachelor’s degrees in 1991, master’s in 2003 and doctorate degrees in 2018. Across the university’s 16 schools and three research institutions, there are 45 undergraduate bachelor programmes, 54 postgraduate master’s programmes, and six doctorate programmes. The schools and departments include: public finance and taxation; public management; accounting; finance; information management and artificial intelligence; economics; law; foreign languages; data sciences; humanities; arts; and physical education. Students at the university have a range of international opportunities through exchanges and partnerships. The university has links with over 135 universities across 33 countries, allowing for knowledge exchange and study abroad initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities: The appointee will play a pivotal role in supporting AI-related research activities and will serve as the key liaison between the research team and partner firms. Specific responsibilities include: Managing research projects conducted in collaboration with industry partners; Identifying an serving as the primary point of contact between academic researchers and industry collaborators; Collecting data and relevant case materials resulting from these partnerships; Creating and preparing materials related to AI courses and knowledge transfer.  Requirements: Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in a relevant discipline, such as Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. They should demonstrate a strong combination of business acumen and technical expertise in AI and machine learning. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in industry-academic collaboration or project management will be highly regarded. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  Job Purpose The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an academic research project funded by BCA. The project is in collaboration with IHL and an industry partner. where you will be part of the research team to develop and demonstrate Building-to-Grid Integration through Intelligent Optimization and Predictive Control at SIT’s Punggol campus. Under this job title, you will be required to establish a test bed in SIT’s Punggol campus building, benchmarking of current building energy performances, deployment of new sensors & hardware, and quantitative evaluation of energy savings. You will be required to coordinate with multiple internal and external parties for the successful deployment of technology, test-bedding, and energy performance evaluation. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Candidate will be required to establish test bed in SIT’s Punggol campus building, benchmarking of current building energy performances, deployment of new sensors, hardware, quantitative evaluation of energy savings, etc. Meeting the deliverables by deployment, demonstration, and experimental studies planned for under the scope of work of the projects within the timeframe to meet the deliverables. Coordination with project internal and external team members, vendors, contractors, safety officers, for successful deployment of technology and testing. Assists in the co-supervision of final year projects (FYP) or capstone projects students under the Project PI. Assists the PI in drafting project reports, conference proceedings, and journal articles based on the outcome of the projects. Prepares and shares a fortnightly report of results from the computations with the PI. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety, and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements PhD degree in electrical/civil/mechanical engineering or other related fields Expert knowledge of building air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation, simulation, building automation and control, sensor network, thermal energy storage, indoor air quality, heat transfer, and building energy performance evaluation.  Experience of test bed setup development, testing & commissioning, and performance analysis. Knowledge of industrial protocols, sensors, and control hardware. Knowledge of building management systems, software integration, data collection, and analysis. Industry or research lab experience is required. Strong analytical and conceptual abilities. Ability to work in a team as well as independently. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
