Strategic Platform and Programme Development Co-lead the Design Factory as a design-led platform bridging applied R&D, industry collaboration, education, and enterprise adoption; growing its role within SIT's innovation ecosystem. Identify and develop opportunities for programme growth in human-centred design, circular innovation, applied R&D, and cross-disciplinary learning. Drive platform strategy, programme governance, and stakeholder engagement, including representation at institutional forums, exhibitions, and VIP engagements. Job Requirements Degree in Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, Engineering, Innovation Management, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is an advantage. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in applied R&D, user-centred design, innovation consulting, or design-led industry translation. Description The Center for Technology, Economics, and Development (CTED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications from individuals to be appointed as a Junior Research Scientist (AI-Blockchain Project) for a one-year period, with the possibility of renewal conditional on excellent performance. The Junior Research Scientist (AI-Blockchain Research) will support advanced, quantitatively intensive research at CTED with a primary focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, mathematical modeling, and computational analysis. Experience Industry experience is strongly preferred — candidates from cybersecurity firms, telecom operators, quantum companies, government agencies, or applied R&D labs are particularly encouraged to apply. Postdoctoral researchers with strong industry collaboration components (e.g., industry-funded projects, testbed deployments, or technology transfer) will also be considered.
