Wageningen University & Research

For over a century, Wageningen University & Research (WUR) has evolved from agricultural roots into a purpose-driven, interdisciplinary organisation playing a leading role in addressing global challenges in food, nature, and the living environment.
Our mission is grounded in a simple but urgent reality: humanity’s future depends on the health of our planet. We are part of nature and cannot live apart from it.
WUR's duty is clear: find innovative ways to bring production and consumption systems into harmony with nature. We do this through systemic thinking. Connecting disciplines from social to life sciences and linking fundamental research to real-world application. Our unique integration of University and Research enables us to translate knowledge into practice, from lab to land, and from local solutions to global impact.
Together with partners worldwide, we address complex challenges such as food security, climate adaptation, biodiversity, and health, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Everyone at WUR, students, researchers, teachers and staff, shares an intrinsic and pragmatic drive to shape a sustainable future. Developing knowledge and applying it where it makes a difference. This results in high-quality education, impactful research, and strong international collaboration.
This commitment is reflected in our global standing. WUR consistently ranks among the world’s leading universities in our domain. Rankings are not an end in themselves, but a reflection of the relevance and real-world impact of our science and education, and of our ambition to help create a future in which humanity and nature thrive in balance.WUR offers a broad range of bachelor’s and master’s programmes:
