The role This postdoctoral research fellow position is a full-time role for the duration of a two-year Leverhulme Trust-funded project examining adolescent boys’ and young adult men’s perspectives on, and experiences of, sexual consent. Working closely with the Principal Investigator, the postholder will contribute to all stages of the research process, from literature review and study set-up through to data collection, analysis and dissemination. The role offers substantial hands-on experience of mixed-methods research on sensitive topics, within a supportive and intellectually engaged research environment. Key responsibilities will include: Conducting and supporting systematic and critical literature reviews related to sexual consent, masculinity, gender-based sexual violence and young people’s sexual cultures Supporting the design, administration and management of a large-scale quantitative survey, including data handling and preparation for analysis Assisting with qualitative data collection, including recruitment, interviewing and transcription management Contributing to qualitative and quantitative data analysis under the guidance of the Principal Investigator Supporting project administration, organisation of research materials, and ethical and data management procedures Contributing to academic outputs, including drafting sections of papers, reports or presentations Assisting with dissemination and engagement activities linked to the project, where appropriate The post offers an opportunity to develop advanced methodological skills, contribute to high-quality publications, and engage with contemporary theoretical debates around consent, gender, and relational ethics. Description The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist position under the supervision of Prof. Qurrat-Ul-Ain Nadeem in the NextG Wireless Lab. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on the modeling, design, and performance analysis of emerging massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) architectures for next-generation wireless communications systems. The candidate will investigate advanced MIMO paradigms, including continuous aperture MIMO, pre-optimized MIMO arrays, flexible intelligent metasurfaces, and tri-hybrid MIMO systems, with a particular emphasis on near-field propagation regimes relevant to ultra-massive MIMO systems. The candidate is expected to develop physically-consistent narrowband and wideband signal models for these frameworks, and use them to analyze key performance indicators such as achievable rates, coverage, and energy efficiency, as well as optimize relevant system parameters. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, telecommunications, or related field, with at least 3 years of research experience (not including the years to obtain the PhD). Other requirements include: Proven track record of publications in IEEE Communications Society’s and IEEE Signal Processing Society’s journals and conferences. Strong background in communication theory, signal processing, machine learning, and optimization theory. Strong verbal and written skills in English. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and capacity to pursue independent research as well as mentor graduate students. In addition to the above qualifications, it is desirable that the applicants have: Research background in one or more of the following areas: massive MIMO, near-field propagation, channel estimation. Description The Water Research Center, New York University Abu Dhabi, is seeking to hire an Associate Research Scientist to develop calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification. The successful candidate will develop new calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification applications. To explore this area of macrocycle-based porous frameworks for water contaminant removal, the candidate will be involved in the directed synthesis of organic macrocycle containing linkers and porous frameworks and then investigate the supramolecular interactions with various organic pollutants. This would require knowledge in the design and synthesis of porous frameworks, particularly in techniques such as Schlenk line, glove box, powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction, electron microscopy, and porosity analysis. The candidate is expected to have a thorough understanding of the analytical techniques used to characterize the materials. Experience in the application of such materials to water treatment is preferred.
