About the Role Reporting to the Deputy Principal (FE), the Vice Principal – Quality will provide strategic leadership and institutional oversight for the quality, consistency and continuous improvement of the Further Education and Skills portfolio at University College Birmingham. Research Assistant Professor (25260475) Responsibilities: The Department is recruiting a scholar at the rank of Research Assistant Professor in computational mathematics, machine learning, scientific computing, statistics, and related areas. The appointee is expected to conduct high-impact research and engage in various scholarly activities, including securing research funding, student supervision and taking up teaching duties, if necessary. Requirements: A relevant PhD degree with a solid and outstanding track record in research; Ability to conduct research independently while effectively engaging in a team environment; A proven record of scientific productivity evidenced by peer-reviewed publications; A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship; and Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract up to two years. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
