(pro-rata) Location: Mount Gambier | On the Traditional Lands of the First Nations of the Southeast View Position Description About the Role Join Flinders University’s South Australia Rural Medical (SARM) Program and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of rural medical practitioners. Based at the Mount Gambier campus, the Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills will provide academic leadership across clinical skills and communication teaching, delivering innovative, student-centred learning experiences that support excellence in medical education. Drawing on significant clinical expertise, the successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, clinical skills training, simulation-based education, and the strengthening of industry and health service partnerships that enhance student learning and support the growth of the rural medical workforce. Lead the delivery, coordination and continuous improvement of clinical skills and communication education across the SARM Program, ensuring an engaging and high-quality student learning experience. Drive curriculum innovation through the design and review of medical education programs, incorporating contemporary pedagogical approaches, simulation, team-based learning and educational technologies. Build and maintain strong partnerships with health services and industry stakeholders to support clinical placements, work-integrated learning opportunities and graduate employability. Provide academic leadership, mentoring and professional support to students and colleagues, while contributing to accreditation activities, governance, community engagement and broader College initiatives. You will be required to undertake a full range of occupational health provision, including vaccinations, phlebotomy, health screening and surveillance. You will also be required to complete confidential health records using the OH database and ensuring that the service complies with University and SEQOHS standards. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with relevant clinical knowledge and skills and substantial nursing experience. Experience in a similar OH setting would be desirable but not essential. Professional and organised, you must also be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills, have a flexible, proactive approach and be able to manage a varied, sometimes challenging, workload with minimal supervision. Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible for providing clinical supervision and teaching students in the Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology programme. He/She will also be involved in the administration and knowledge exchange activities of the programme. Essential Requirements Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, a recognized professional qualification in Speech Therapy, and at least 5 years’ post-qualification clinical experience as a speech therapist. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese) as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.  Desirable Attributes Preference will be given to those who have strong experience working in pediatric speech, language, and communication disorders with experience and interest in clinical education; and work or clinical supervision experience in non-local clinical settings.
