The Early Career Awards (ECA) are designed to support Singaporeans who have recently completed their postdoctoral training and prepare them for an academic career at SIT. This award aims to enhance the teaching capabilities of the recipient and help build a strong research portfolio. Description The Khalil laboratory in the Center for Smart Engineering Materials, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work on the design and deployment of porous materials for water remediation applications. The successful applicant will work on the development and application of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for water remediation. The successful candidate will join a young yet highly energetic team dedicated to leveraging chemistry, reaction engineering, and manufacturing principles to address pressing challenges in the water sector. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and undergraduate students. The appointed research assistant will conduct independent research on COF materials, focusing on their synthesis, characterization, and practical application. Key responsibilities include designing frameworks, experiments, and publishing high-quality research. The position provides a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility and engage with a collaborative and diverse research community at NYUAD. Selection Criteria - Who We’re Looking For Essential Qualifications & Experience A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Rehabilitation, Public Health, Allied Health, Health Services Management, or a closely related field from a recognised university outside China A minimum of 5 years of International HE teaching and/or administrative experience, including a mid-senior leadership role. Demonstrated expertise in clinical practice, healthcare management, or applied health sciences. Proven track record in academic quality assurance, curriculum design, assessment moderation, and governance. Experience implementing innovative pedagogies and driving continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Strong operational insight into academic delivery, including scheduling, resource planning, and performance management. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor faculty teams, fostering professional development and collaboration. Experience aligning academic programmes with industry trends to enhance graduate employability. Success in leading programme reviews and curriculum enhancement initiatives. Effective cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in diverse, international teams.
