At the core of the work that we do is our aim to always provide a fair, open, and transparent recruitment process for everyone involved and a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers alike. About the Role: This role provides an end-to-end recruitment service to a demanding and wide range of stakeholders. Customer service will be key, and you will pragmatically support Hiring Managers (HM) to recruit high quality individuals for the University. You will provide dedicated support to a specific Faculty/School/Professional Services directorate, where you will manage the recruitment of a variety of roles including Academic, Research and Professional Services positions. Key Responsibilities: Provide an in-house specialist talent acquisition service; partner with the HMs to deliver an effective and efficient hiring process with clear timelines and methods of delivery. Support HMs in drafting job descriptions (JDs) and adverts providing guidance to maximise the pool of qualified applications and ensure they’re legally compliant. Provide guidance on where/how to place recruitment adverts, ensuring value for money and advising on recruitment best practice including diversity and inclusion. Provide advice to panel members and create, share and maintain shortlisting grids electronically and in line with data protection/employment legislation. Facilitate the interview/assessment process – e.g. invite candidates to interview, confirm interview panel and candidate attendees; troubleshoot and adopt a common sense and calm approach to any unforeseen issues arising with the schedule. Support the HM in the negotiation process when needed i.e. provide salary data and analysis to the HM, being mindful of diversity, confidentiality and GDPR Help coach and supervise Recruitment Coordinators within the team. Communicate with unsuccessful candidates and provide feedback where appropriate. Strive to ensure that all candidates have an excellent experience when applying to King’s College. Ensure that all pre-employment checks are met for the successful candidate, liaising with the HM and Staff Compliance team as appropriate. Liaise with HR Operations and UKVI colleagues to issue the appropriate contractual paperwork when recruiting staff who require a visa. Close vacancies within the ATS and update HR electronic files accordingly. Ensure all assigned recruitment actions are entered into the ATS; ensure 100% accuracy and compliance; at the request of HMs, provide status reports in relation to applicants/progress of a recruitment/diversity statistics. Take responsibility for a distinct area of the university, regularly meet your HMs, department administrators and Director of Operations to ensure they are satisfied with the service they receive from the Recruitment Team. You will be required to attend the office a minimum of two days a week, or additional days as per the requirements of the role. This will include working with your business areas and basing yourselves in their offices as needed. Act as a point of escalation for Recruitment Coordinators to raise issues or queries related to the faculty/departments you support. About You You will have the following skills and experience: Experience working within an internal recruitment Team which have very high volumes of recruitment. Based across King’s Denmark Hill, Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Waterloo campuses, our academic programme of teaching, research and clinical practice is embedded across five Departments About the role The EMBRACE Chief Operating Officer is the operational and partnership lead for the Inkfish EMBRACE (Enhanced Maternal and Baby Results with AI-supported Care and Empowerment) programme, setting up and managing the operations across the multi-partner, multiple country consortium. The post holder is required to be a highly experienced, strategic leader with expertise in artificial intelligence in the context of personalised health. EMBRACE is a visionary, multicomponent international research programme, the first of its kind in the world, supported by Inkfish with £35M core funds over six years, starting in April 2025. It is a global study of 60,000 participants, including 20,000 mothers, 20,000 infants and up to 20,000 partners. It brings together world-leading clinician scientists across six distinguished Healthcare organisations, world-leading AI & technology companies, together with premier biotech companies, with the overarching aim to fast-track major scientific breakthroughs, revolutionise maternal and early childhood health through precision-personalised interventions, powered by a groundbreaking symbiosis of cutting-edge AI combined with human support. The post holder is responsible for establishing and managing the EMBRACE programme working closely with the study Director and lead PI, Professor Josip Car (King’s College London), Senior Advisors, other members of the research leadership team and Industry partner organisations. The EMBRACE Chief Operating Officer will manage all parties within the global consortium and key stakeholders to set up and maintain an operational framework that meets the regulatory requirements of each partner country and organisation to meet EMBRACE’s ambitious goals. They will oversee day-to-day execution of decisions and contracts, including the oversight of the research teams and business operations. This includes the consortium’s financial management, project management – meeting key milestones, writing and presenting reports, establishing and overseeing the programme’s governance, ethical and regulatory compliance, and maintaining internal and external relationships including with industry partners, funders and collaborators. The EMBRACE Chief Operating Officer will provide strategic leadership, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensure delivery of high-impact research outcomes. This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 01/10/2030. Please note that you will be expected to come into the office a minimum of 4 days a week.
