Ref.: 534694 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (20600) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor in Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534694), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract. Applicants should possess a medical degree registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, a relevant higher academic qualification (e.g. M.D., Ph.D.), a higher qualification in internal medicine, and a specialist qualification in gastroenterology recognized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or its equivalent. They should have proven capacity and potential, and an outstanding track record of active research, including high-impact research output, external competitive grants and research awards; demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in clinical services and training; and have engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. They should also be fluent in Cantonese, Putonghua and English, although teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English. Preference will be given to those with a track record in research governance, university and hospital administration, and experience in both early- and late-phase clinical trials.  The appointee is expected to participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; conduct research in gastroenterology; develop and provide regular clinical services and patient care at the University’s affiliate teaching hospitals; and contribute to administrative duties in the Department, Hospitals and Faculty. Based within Applied Chemistry and Environmental Science in the School of Science at RMIT University, the role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with national and international collaborators in sustainable energy research. The successful candidate will contribute to high-impact research aligned with RMIT's strategic priorities, undertaking both independent and team-based projects in materials science, with a particular emphasis on electrochemistry. In addition to supporting the day-to-day operations of the project, the Research Assistant will help build strong research networks, contribute to securing research funding, and produce high-quality outputs including publications and potential patents. About You Evidence of experience in well-developed, hands-on laboratory synthesis of advanced two dimensional (2D) layered nanomaterials and their characterisation. Evidence of experience in manipulating materials for improving the performance of electrochemistry. Evidence of experience in manipulating materials for flexible or wearable energy application. Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs, which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, and competitive research funding. Demonstrated ability to work with and supervise higher degree by research candidates. Ability to build effective networks with colleagues resulting in collaborative outcomes. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
