As Manager, Commercial Property, you’ll lead a diverse portfolio and combine high-level commercial advice with hands-on transactional delivery—preparing and managing leases and licences, undertaking rent reviews and outgoings reconciliations, and keeping lease data and key systems accurate and audit-ready. Some of the key areas of responsibility are: Identification and evaluation of commercial property opportunities aligned with functional requirements and business needs, including location, space, amenity, compliance, operational constraints, and whole-of-life cost. Develop and present detailed business cases to support decisions relating to the acquisition, renewal or disposal of properties assets as required Preparation and management of leases, licenses, and related property agreements to ensure the University’s interests are protected and effectively managed across the property portfolio, including the ongoing maintenance of property and lease information within University systems such as NomosOne and Service One. Undertaking portfolio-wide financial management responsivities, including budgeting and forecasting for lease revenue and expenditure; managing rent reviews and escalations; monitoring and reconciling outgoings; overseeing invoicing and financial controls, preparing performance reporting, and supporting risk management associated with property assets. Contributing to campus activation and planning initiatives by providing commercial property input (tenure/leasing opportunities, site constraints, market considerations and financial impacts) to support the University’s strategic objections. For a more detailed list of Key Position Responsibilities, please view the Position Description About You With extensive experience in property management, including the effective management of large, complex and institutionally scaled property portfolios – preferably within a university or comparable environment, you understand organisational and business requirements and how to develop and implement property strategies that support operational, financial, and strategic objectives. Your exemplary oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills support your ability to influence, negotiate, and present advice effectively to senior stakeholders along with the preparation, analysis, and assessment of leases, licences, and other legal property documentation. Other keys to your success are: Proven commitment to client needs, a strong track record of delivering high-quality client-focussed service, and the ability to build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, key client groups, and colleagues to develop solutions and create opportunities. This role requires a unique ability to help students understand how analytics informs leadership decisions. You will teach students to move from data preparation and statistical analysis to strategic interpretation and managerial action, always with an emphasis on ethical practice, sustainability, and responsible management. In addition to postgraduate teaching, you will be expected to teach and mentor final-year (Level 6) undergraduate students enrolled in the dual bachelor's degree, including supervising their final year research projects. The teaching load is up to 20 class periods per week. Due to the profile of our students, who are often working professionals, teaching may be scheduled in the evenings or on weekends. You will also provide at least 6 class periods per week of office hours for student support and mentorship. Selection Criteria Essential: A PhD in Business Analytics, Management Science, Data Science, Organisational Behaviour, or a closely related field with a strong quantitative focus. A minimum of 2 years of higher education teaching experience at the postgraduate level, demonstrating the ability to teach both technical analytics skills and management/leadership concepts, preferably at a Senior Lecturer level or higher. Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R) and statistical software. A strong understanding of management principles, including organisational behaviour, leadership, and change management. Proven experience in supervising postgraduate dissertations and/or undergraduate final year research projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment. A commitment to fostering student success and a positive learning experience. Description The Modern Compilers Lab in the Computer Science program at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant to work on the intersection of compilers and deep learning. Many companies, such as Google, Facebook, and Amazon are building new specialized programming frameworks. This is because these companies need to allow their users to write simple, high-level code and run it efficiently on different hardware architectures. For example, Google has built TensorFlow, a framework for deep learning allowing users to run deep learning on multiple hardware architectures without changing the code. Our research team at NYUAD (New York University Abu Dhabi) is developing a new programming framework called Tiramisu [1]. Unlike existing frameworks, Tiramisu can perform advanced code optimizations that are hard to apply otherwise. Because of this, Tiramisu can generate fast code that outperforms highly optimized code written by expert programmers and can target different hardware architectures (multicore, GPUs, FPGAs, and distributed machines). In order to have the best performance (fastest execution) for a given Tiramisu program, many code optimizations should be applied. Optimizations include vectorization (using hardware vector instructions), parallelization (running loop iterations in parallel), enhancing data locality by fusion, and blocking (i.e. accessing arrays in a way that improves temporal and spatial data locality). A large number of optimizations exist and choosing which optimization should be used and which should not is important for performance. In some situations, some optimizations are harmful to performance while they are beneficial in other situations. Currently, there is no way to help users choose which optimizations should be used. Expert programmers usually spend a lot of time trying different optimizations manually to find the best set of optimizations. The goal of this project is to add support for automatic code optimization in Tiramisu. In particular, we want to use machine learning/deep learning to achieve this. Currently, a basic automatic optimization module that relies on machine learning has been developed and we want to take that module to the next level. The final product of this project would be a compiler pass that allows Tiramisu to automatically choose which optimization should be used for a given unoptimized program. We want to produce a high-quality technique that can be used by the users of Tiramisu and especially by our partner companies and research labs. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, though a master’s degree is preferred.
