Universitas Terbuka is a public university based in South Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia. It was established in September 1984 and operates through an open and distance learning system.

The university was created to expand access to higher education across Indonesia and internationally, particularly for students in remote regions. It is based in Pondok Cabe and operates through 41 regional offices across Indonesia and Timor Leste.

The university offers more than 40 programmes across four faculties covering teacher training and education sciences, law and social sciences, economics, and science and technology. It also offers postgraduate programmes including master’s and doctoral degrees.

The university is accredited nationally and has received international recognition from organisations including the International Council for Open and Distance Education.

The research assistant will play an active role in supporting the successful delivery of the project across its full lifetime.
