Explore more: www.polyu.edu.hk/hti   The appointeeDuties Duties The appointees will be required to: (a)    conduct research as the main duty and actively pursue external research grants, such as General Research Fund, as Principal Investigator;  (b)    provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level;  (c)    contribute to departmental service; and (d)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.  Qualifications Applicants should: (a)    have a PhD degree and a solid academic background in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to the following areas – Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Medical Imaging and Radiation Science, Medical Physics and Medical Data Science, particularly with research and teaching expertise in the related areas; (b)    preferably have at least two years of postdoctoral research experience; (c)    have demonstrated promise of a high level of creative ability in research and teaching in some subdivisions of his/her field; (d)    be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills; and (e)    be highly proficient in written and spoken English. The Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki is seeking undergraduate students to work as research assistants in Helsinki and as teaching assistants in Helsinki and Vaasa for the academic year 2026–2027. The work will be compensated at an hourly rate of €15.70/hour. Working hours are 0–15 h/week; in Helsinki, 0-60 h/month. The responsibilities of research assistants include assisting researchers with various research-related tasks, such as information retrieval, data collection, proofreading, and technical formatting of footnotes and similar materials. The work requires good IT and communication technology skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of Finnish and Swedish is considered an advantage. The responsibilities of teaching assistants include various support tasks related to teaching, including the use of the Moodle learning environment and assisting staff with the system. Additionally, the work involves carrying out practical arrangements related to courses (e.g., grouping students and communicating course-related matters to students) as well as tasks related to recording teaching and other practical implementations of teaching. The tasks also include duties related to bilingualism and the use of both domestic languages, so we value fluency in Swedish. The work also requires good IT and communication technology skills and excellent interpersonal skills. They are also expected to engage in training and professional development activities to maintain their clinical practice registration in their discipline, and to participate in the assessment of students in their attainment of relevant clinical skills. Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have at least: A qualification in Occupational Therapy that is recognised by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, with current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority. Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist with proven ability to provide evidence-based assessment and intervention for children to support functional development, participation, and independence in daily activities. Proven ability to provide effective supervision of students. Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching clinical skills in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
