The university has nine faculties including business administration, law, engineering, international studies, economics, education, criminology, psychology and communication. The university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The Loyola University has three campuses that are located in Cordoba, Granada and Seville. There are a range of centres where students can take part in extracurricular activities including the music centre, art centre and film and photography centre. Students can also join sports teams.

Full time, 2 years fixed term, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Chemistr Exciting opportunity to work at the interface of academia and industry with DuluxGroup Australia Base Salary, level A/B $113,400 - $121,054 p.a + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Chemistry is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Colloidal Science to work on a project funded by an Australian Research Council Linkage Project, in collaboration with industry partner DuluxGroup Australia, on nanostructured polymeric particles as paint additives. You will work under the mentorship of Prof Chiara Neto to achieve controlled assembly of polymer particles, which should lead to paint films that are high-performing, durable, and with long-lasting colour. The project team involves academics expert in functional coatings (Prof Neto), emulsion polymerisation (Dr Nguyen) and in self-assembly and scattering (Prof Warr). Your key responsibilities will be to: achieve controlled assembly of polymer nanoparticles characterise materials properties of the produced polymer films conduct literature reviews, present results to partners and write scientific manuscripts co-supervise research students in the group assist in lab management. The selected prae doc will become part of the Research Group Workflow Systems and Technology (WST) and will work towards obtaining a doctorate degree (PhD) under the supervision of Prof. Bernhard Lutz. The position is to be filled as soon as possible. The new work group by Prof. Bernhard Lutz within the research group Workflow Systems and Technology has a broad research focus on topics of business analytics and operations research. The interdisciplinary group aims to develop novel approaches for solving complex decision problems and explaining human behavior in the usage of information technology. For this purpose, the group applies methods from reinforcement learning, explainable AI, natural language processing, and lab experiments. Applications should hence be interested in one or more of the aforementioned topics and/or methods. The particular topics will be determined based on the candidate’s skills and preferences. Given its interdisciplinary focus, the group collaborates with researchers from both, computer science and business administration. The successful candidate can hence build on a strong network of fellow researchers with a strong knowledge of business analytics and operations research topics. The Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Vienna has world-leading researchers in Computer Science who pursue basic as well as applied research. The selected praedoc will also become part of the UniVie Doctoral School Computer Science (DoCS), which builds an essential framework to foster excellence in research and teaching. The DoCS aims to provide young researchers with the broad knowledge and experience they need to conduct computer science research at the highest level. It trains doctoral students to solve fundamental as well as applied research questions of high relevance. The appointment is for 4 years, whereby the employment contract is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.
