About the position This is a critical leadership role within La Trobe’s Integrity Office, focused on strengthening a safe, respectful and accountable university environment. Reporting to the Director, Integrity Office, the Manager, Safer Community and Student Conduct leads the University’s response to complex and sensitive matters involving student conduct, safer community, child safety and behavioural risk. You’ll oversee end-to-end case management and investigations—ensuring matters are handled with care, consistency and procedural fairness—while also providing trusted advice to senior leaders on risk, governance and institutional response. This role has a strong strategic lens, using data and insights to improve policy, systems and practice across the University, while also acting as the University’s Child Safety Officer. Key responsibilities Lead the intake, triage and investigation of complex student conduct and general misconduct matters Act as a key escalation point for high-risk issues including sexual harm, family violence and child safety concerns Provide expert advice and reporting to senior stakeholders on policy, governance and risk management Ensure responses are trauma-informed, procedurally fair and aligned with legislation and policy Drive continuous improvement across safer community and student conduct frameworks and governance Build strong internal and external partnerships (e.g. Victoria Police, support agencies, sector networks) Analyse trends and deliver insights to inform strategic and timely decision-making and policy development Lead and support a high-performing team, building capability and best practice in investigation and case management Fulfil Child Safety Officer responsibilities, ensuring compliance with Child Safe Standards and regulatory obligations About you You’re a confident, values-driven leader with deep experience leading complex investigations, risk management and sensitive casework. Duties and Responsibilities To conduct research on the observational and numerical modeling of ionospheric irregularities. The project focuses on investigating the Equatorial Spread F phenomena near the Greater Bay Area using integrated regional and global models together with observational data. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Prof. Binzheng Zhang and Prof. Zhonghua Yao, as well as other DEPS researchers, to carry out an integrated analysis of numerical simulations and data-model comparisons.
