As Vice-President (Corporate Services), you will play a central role in embedding this new operating footprint, ensuring the financial, digital, and physical foundations are in place to sustain ECU's momentum and deliver on its long-term strategic ambitions. Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-President (Corporate Services) is responsible for leading a diverse and high-impact portfolio that includes Finance, Digital Services, Campus Environments, and the University Project Management Office. You will lead a team of senior executives, including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Director of Campus Environments, and Director of the University Project Management Office and work collaboratively across the institution to ensure that ECU's corporate services enable academic excellence, operational performance, and long-term financial sustainability. This is a role for a strategic and transformational leader who is energised by complexity and motivated by impact. You will be responsible for shaping institutional strategy as a member of the University's Executive Leadership Team, driving enterprise-wide digital transformation and cyber security maturity, overseeing major capital works and sustainability initiatives, and embedding a scalable, customer-focused corporate services model across the university. You will also lead significant organisational and operational change, ensuring integration across portfolio functions and alignment to ECU's strategic priorities, while maintaining robust governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. The successful candidate will bring significant senior leadership experience from large, complex organisations, ideally with exposure to higher education, government, or other regulated environments. You will have a strong track record in financial strategy and resource allocation, alongside demonstrated experience leading digital transformation, enterprise systems, or major infrastructure programs at scale. Ref.: 536374 Work type: Full-time Department: School of Biomedical Sciences (22600) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (several posts) in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 536374), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Applicants should possess: (i) a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a related discipline; (ii) evidence of international recognition and a strong record of scholarship with a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives; (iii) a strong commitment to engaging students in inquiry-based learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and (iv) a strong track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants. The appointees are expected to participate in teaching biomedical sciences subjects relevant to human health and diseases spanning basic biochemical, cellular and molecular biology to whole body organization and homeostasis, across a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes including medical, biomedical sciences, pharmacy, nursing and/or Chinese medicine. They will also be expected to establish an innovative and well-funded research group that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration. Research should be at the forefront of biology and medicine, spanning basic molecular and cellular processes, developmental and stem cell biology, cancer, body defence systems, neuroscience, bioinformatics and bioengineering. In the course of career development, the appointees are expected to make substantial contributions to the School’s strategic developments in academic and research collaborations locally, regionally and internationally. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. In this role, you will coordinate administrative services related to research data collection, ensuring processes are efficient, accurate, and well governed. You will also support ethics submissions, grant applications, and the delivery of research related initiatives, working closely with academic and professional staff across the School.
