Sunway University

A 5th-generation university moves beyond the traditional academic roles of teaching and research to become a primary engine for societal transformation and planetary health. As the world's first mission-driven 5th-generation university, Sunway University is the ideal destination for students who want more than just a successful career; it is for those who seek to make a real-world impact by addressing the most urgent global challenges, with ethics and social responsibility at the forefront of their goals.
Sunway University has been recognised as the #1 university with the most employable graduates for four consecutive years by Talentbank. In 2024, the University achieved a 100% graduate employability rate within six months of graduation. These lofty achievements are a result of a deep integration with the industry. In fact, Sunway was the recipient of the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) Award for Outstanding Support for Students, a commitment further reflected in our 98% student retention rate.
The University continues to innovate in student support with the Success X-Factor Coaching Programme. Through this initiative, students receive structured, one-on-one support from three tiers of coaches, including industry icons like Tan Sri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah, Dato’ Sri Idris Jala, Prof. Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, Chef Wan, and Datuk Nicol David to build professional readiness and purpose-driven thinking.
Students at Sunway are granted tremendous exposure to the global market. The Sunway Career Portal connects students to over 8,000 global employers, resulting in one of the strongest internship pipelines in the region. This is complemented by the Career Xperience Series, which offers tailored support ranging from resume clinics to mock interviews. Supplementing this is the CareerX Internship Program, which works with Sunway iLabs to offer Entrepreneurship Internships to students with diverse interests, allowing them to work closely with start-ups, or even develop their own business venture.
Every year, Sunway engages with employers through on-campus career fairs. 2025’s Get Hired Career Fair featured close to 100 employers, including the likes of Deloitte, Maybank, Coach, Shopee, HSBC, and many, many more. And that wasn’t the only career fair of the year, as the 2025 STEM Career Fair brought together over 40 industries looking to hire interns and graduates from STEM backgrounds. The Most Happening Campus isn’t just a nickname; it’s a goal Sunway University aspires toward with every event on campus.
Beyond the classroom, Sunway City serves as an integrated ecosystem, home to 25,000 working professionals. With Sunway Group being recognised as one of Southeast Asia’s Best Managed Companies at the 2025 Deloitte Regional Awards, the township itself becomes a classroom for mentors and potential employers.
Sunway is also a truly global community, with international students from over 100 countries. This multicultural experience is balanced by a diverse gender community and supported by over 100 student clubs and societies that foster leadership and creativity.
Sunway University is also known as the Campus with a Conscience, and that isn’t just a nickname either. The S.U.S.T.A.I.N. (Sunway University’s Sustainability-focused Transformative, Accessible, Immersive, and Globally Networked) framework prepares students to be globally competitive, values-driven leaders capable of addressing pressing global sustainability challenges. This framework is built around 4 core courses, namely Entrepreneurial Mindset and Skills, Integrity and Sustainable Development, Planetary-Health & Sustainability in the Tropics and Community Service for Planetary Health. The  S.U.S.T.A.I.N. framework equips students with ethical leadership, problem-solving, and community-engagement skills aligned with the SDGs. Because at Sunway University, we believe in doing well by doing good.
In addition to this, the Sunway Student Volunteers programme led over 360 sustainability-driven initiatives in 2024 alone, reflecting the University’s dedication to student-led community impact. International understanding and cross-cultural skills are fostered through the Sunway Global Friends programme. where local students guide and support international peers as they adapt to campus life.
Choosing Sunway University means choosing an ecosystem where your personal ambition is directly tied to a larger purpose. Whether you are navigating the high-level industry networks of CareerX, receiving one-on-one mentorship through the Success X-Factor Coaching Programme, or addressing climate challenges via the S.U.S.T.A.I.N. framework, you are part of a community that values doing well by doing good. By bridging the gap between world-class academic rigor and the human-centric values of a Campus with a Conscience, Sunway offers a student experience that is as much about character as it is about career readiness.
