Job Description COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offering full-time Associate Degree (AD), Higher Diploma (HD) and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls over 3,500 students and is committed to the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position: Lecturer II / Assistant Lecturer in Cultural Studies, Creative Industries and Cultural Management (25260670) We are seeking a committed and qualified Lecturer II/Assistant Lecturer to join our academic team.  Responsibilities: Teaching and Curriculum Development Teach courses in areas such as cultural management, creative industries, arts administration, cultural studies, and related subjects; Develop and revise course materials that integrate industry practice with critical cultural theory; Supervise student projects, including honors projects, internships, and industry-based assignments; and Contribute to programme review and enhancement in alignment with evolving industry trends. Industry Engagement and Networking Leverage industry connections and facilitate partnerships with relevant stakeholders to create internship, mentorship, and collaborative opportunities for students; and Support students’ career development within cultural and creative sectors. Academic and Administrative Duties Participate in programme administration and quality assurance processes; Contribute to student advising and academic mentorship; and Engage in service activities at programme, school, or institutional levels as required. Requirements: A recognised master’s degree or above in Cultural Studies, Cultural Management, Arts Administration, Creative Industries, or a closely related field. A doctoral degree is preferred; Substantial professional experience in cultural management, curatorial practice, arts administration, creative entrepreneurship, or related sectors. A demonstrated track record of industry collaboration and a well-established professional network in cultural and creative fields will be an advantage; Proven teaching experience in Cultural Studies, Creative Industries, Arts and Cultural Management, or closely related subjects at tertiary level; A strong commitment to student-centred teaching and experiential learning; and A track record of high-quality research outputs clearly linked to the teaching expertise outlined in the description of the full-time position. Reference salary range:  Lecturer II : HK$38,000 - HK$53,000 Assistant Lecturer : HK$30,000 - HK$39,000 The appointee will work at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.  The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. The role We are seeking motivated and collaborative individuals to join our team in delivering high-quality, reliable, and valid assessments within our undergraduate medical programme. We have three part-time 0.5 FTE posts available, each with a dedicated focus on Year 2, Year 3, or Year 4 of the Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) course.  Working closely with the relevant Year Lead and the Director of Assessment, successful candidates will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative formative and summative assessments, drawing on contemporary assessment theory and evidence-based methods, including knowledge tests, OSCEs, workplace-based assessments, and professional portfolios. The role includes involvement in the design and delivery of assessments across the programme. All postholders will contribute to teaching across a range of formats, including large and small group teaching, case-based learning, and clinical and communication skills sessions, as well as supporting student electives and progression. In addition, successful candidates will provide academic support through group and one-to-one engagement, contribute to standard setting, assessment design, and OSCE examining, and support admissions processes. There will also be opportunities to deputise for Year Leads and contribute to curriculum development, assessment governance, and quality assurance activities. These roles are integral to the continued success and development of the programme, reporting ultimately to the Dean of the Medical School. These roles will be offered at either Lecturer A or B level depending on your experience (see job profiles below for further details). The full-time equivalent salary for Lecturer A starts from £37,694 and Lecturer B starts from £47,389 (pro rata for 0.5 FTE). There may be scope for the roles to be clinical academic positions with a salary up to £69,488 (pro rata for 0.5 FTE). First, it will move beyond the field’s reliance on assimilative pathways and stay-or-leave dichotomies by offering a unified, theory-driven account of how individuals regulate aspirations, use resources and pursue opportunities in dynamic environments. Second, it will introduce and validate a comprehensive measurement system with strong psychometric properties, cross-cultural robustness and predictive validity across diverse career outcomes, thereby offering explanatory value beyond dominant models. Third, it will enhance methodological rigor in career strategy research through systematic item generation, multi-sample validation and stringent tests of incremental validity.
