The School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, within the Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science, seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Conservation. This is an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic team and play an important role in ensuring our students enjoy a fantastic student experience.  You will be expected to make broad contributions to the academic work of the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, particularly in the area of conservation. Experience in zoo conservation would be beneficial as would the ability to assist on field trips. You will hold a PhD in the field of Conservation Biology, and have experience of teaching undergraduate students, ideally across all levels. The primary focus of the role is on student-facing activities that enable extensive student engagement across the Student Life Directorate. Key Responsibilities  Assist in the planning and coordinating of a diverse range of events and activities that promote cultural awareness, personal growth, and community engagement.  Assist with the development and growth of diverse student communities from confirmation through to graduation, supporting students to find their community(s) and foster a sense of belonging for all, whether that is through cultural, academic, social or interest-based groups. Effective management of a diverse range of communal living cases. Ensuring that student case management is effective in supporting student progress, throughout the student journey.  Contribute to the development of excellent strategic and operational policies and procedures, which assure outstanding student support, through comprehensive, co-ordinated, and exemplary customer-focused services. Provide other general assistance to the staff of the Events and Communities team in support of their activities as required. Centre for eResearch and Digital Innovation (CeRDI) - Mt Helen Campus Full-time, fixed-term appointment until June 2028 HEW 8 - $117,650 p.a. plus up to 17% superannuation About the role You will contribute to the development and operations of web-based national services and infrastructure with the ARDC, supporting research data discovery, connection, publishing, sharing, and reuse. You will: engage with key stakeholders and developers to elicit, document and communicate their product and service needs; lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives; ensure business analysis activities support consistent, scalable and sustainable service solutions; and ensure deliverables are produced and delivered on time. About you You will have a demonstrated understanding of research context and the role of web-based services in transforming and accelerating research in Australia along with a demonstrable curiosity and understanding in emerging technology trends and their applicability to the Australian research sector. You will possess: demonstrated expertise in developing details requirements specifications, conducting testing and creating end-user documentation; demonstrated skills and experience in Agile/iterative methodologies. experience in Agile coaching or Scrum Master along with demonstrated technical expertise in Jira and Confluence strongly preferred; and extensive experience working closely with technical teams and web application developers across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
