About Omsk State Agrarian University

Omsk State Agrarian University (Omsk SAU), located in the city of Omsk, Russia dates back to 1918, when Omsk Agricultural Institute was founded.

Omsk SAU changed its name several times more until, in 2011, the current name was approved..

The university now consists of the main campus located in Omsk, its branch campus in the city of Tara, and the University College of Agribusiness.

The main university consists of seven faculties, including agrotechnological; agrochemistry, soil sciences, ecology, environmental engineering and water resources exploitation; veterinary medicine; land management; technical service of agroindustrial complexes; zootechny, commodity science and standardisation and economics. The Tara branch of Omsk SAU has the faculty of higher education and the faculty of vocational education.

On the main campus and on the campus of the Tara Branch there are laboratories, an arboretum, dormitories, health centres and canteens. There’s also a stadium with a football field and a 400 metre running track; basketball and volleyball courts; a sports complex including a games room, a cardio-training room, a gym, a wrestling room and a ski base.

In the area, there’s also cinemas, cafes, a shopping mall and several grocery stores for students to enjoy.

The number of clubs on offer include dancing to singing to drama classes.

The university also has partnerships with other universities worldwide offering students the chance to spend a year studying abroad. Omsk accepts students from abroad, however it does not have courses in any other languages than Russian.
