Description The Social Science Experimental Laboratory (SSEL) at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Post-doctoral Researcher position. We seek an ambitious, well-trained, and collaborative scholar with a PhD in economics or a related field. Candidates must have expertise in experimental methods and prior experience conducting social science experiments (lab, lab-in-the-field, online, and/or field). Researchers working at the intersection of experiments and other methods (theory, empirical) as well those studying human behavior and artificial intelligence are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to: Conduct and publish research in leading journals in social science or interdisciplinary outlets. Collaborate with SSEL board members and affiliated faculty. Contribute to the smooth operation of the laboratory. Participate in the academic activities of the division. This position does not include teaching duties and the SSEL provides financial support for travel and research. The successful applicant will join a vibrant community of economists, sociologists, and political scientists conducting cutting-edge experimental research on human behavior. The Social Science division holds active seminar series, as well as workshops and events year round. The SSEL also maintains close ties with the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (CBID), thereby offering many opportunities for collaboration, idea exchange, and research visibility. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop build proof-of-concept cyber security solutions and smart nation related systems. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: Implement post quantum cryptography on the IoT devices. Research and evaluate the existing post quantum cryptography protocol. Assist in writing research papers for the internation conferences. Coordinate and assist the installation of IoT devices. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Job Requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of Cyber Security. Degree in Infocomm, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will be advantageous. Strong interest and passion in Cyber Security. Able to grasp new technology concepts quickly, and combine contrarian, out-of-the-box thinking when performing security assessments. OSCP, CISSP and GXPN holder will be advantageous. Experience in post quantum cryptography will be advantageous. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Description The Research Laboratory of Prof. Serdal Kirmizialtin, in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), seeks to appoint a talented researcher with an excellent record of academic success for a Post-Doctoral Associate position. The research will focus on the development and use of machine learning and advanced molecular dynamics techniques for molecular simulations and to study Nucleic acids structures and their interactions. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or related field, and is less than 5 after his receiving his their PhD. years , with extensive experience in the application of molecular dynamics simulations to molecular systems, ideally in both methods and applications. Experience in biomolecular simulations particularly nucleic acid simulations is desirable. An ideal candidate should have a solid background in physics and chemistry, particularly in the area of statistical mechanics with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent record of research accomplishments. Experience with modern sampling techniques such as metadynamics, UFED, path sampling, milestoning methods; machine learning applications in chemistry and biophysics, good computer programming skills, and working knowledge of UNIX, phyton, and shell scripting is highly desired. Experience in molecular simulation softwares and analysis tools such as Gromacs, PLUMED and OpenMM will be very valuable.
