The National Autonomous University of Mexico (NAUM) is the largest university in Latin America. Originally the ‘Royal and Pontifical University of Mexico’, it was founded in 1910 by the then minister of education, Justo Sierra, whose aim was to create a Mexican institute of higher learning based on liberal values.

In 1929 the university was granted autonomy from government influence, which allowed it greater freedoms around curriculum and budgetary management.

Today, as well as offering degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level, it also runs several high schools throughout Mexico City which prepares students for higher education.

The university’s main campus, designed by some of Mexico’s best architects, is a recognised World Heritage site. Other campuses exist across Mexico and the university also has an international presence in Texas, Illinois and Quebec.

Although university instruction is given in Spanish, most degree programmes include an intensive, five-week Spanish language programme for international students who need to brush up on their language skills.

NAUM has associations with three Nobel Laureates in Peace, Literature and Chemistry. Other notable alumni include no less than five presidents of Mexico and a number of renowned journalists, philosophers and politicians.

The university prides itself on its research excellence and is home to various research centres – including the Centre for Applied Sciences and Technological Development – which emphasise the integration of science with real world problems. NAUM also specialises in conducting research into issues directly relevant to Mexico and the developing world.

Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs. Job Requirements Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related fields from a recognized University. Industry certifications like OSCP, CISSP, or CEH are a plus. Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in security analyst, preferably with exposure to cybersecurity applications. Proven experience as a Certified Security Analyst or in a related role, with a strong understanding of industry best practices, cybersecurity frameworks, IoT Security, OT Security, and Mobile Security. Strong understanding of cryptography, including symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic primitives, protocols, and PQC. Experience with adversarial machine learning techniques and defenses. Clear understanding of information security principles and the cyber technology landscape. Ability to develop and enforce security policies, conduct security awareness training, and stay updated on emerging cyber threats and hacker methodologies. Experience in developing and enhancing frameworks or standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling cybersecurity incidents in different industries. Soft Skills & Mindset: Passionate about cybersecurity, technically hands-on, willing to learn, and curious about the inner workings of Enterprise/OT/Telecommunications technologies and exploiting their vulnerabilities. Strong interest in supporting research and academic projects, with the ability to adopt and manage new security technologies. Willingness to pursue professional certifications in cybersecurity governance, such as CISSP, OSCP, CSSP (Industry certifications are an added advantage). Actively participate in cybersecurity-related projects or organizations, such as CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team), ISACA, or ISC2.

The Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki is seeking a University Lecturer for a fixed-term position from January 1, 2027, to April 30, 2028, who can teach criminal law and procedural law. The responsibilities of the University Lecturer in Law include providing undergraduate education as well as supervising and examining theses in the Bachelor of Laws program and in one or more of the faculty's Master’s programs. The languages of instruction for the position are Finnish and English. The University Lecturer will conduct independent scientific research and manage jointly agreed administrative and other tasks. Teaching responsibilities also include instruction under the Open University brand. The place of employment for University Lecturers is Helsinki, but the position also involves teaching duties at the faculty's education unit in Vaasa. The role is teaching-oriented. Requirements for the Position and Evaluation of Qualifications Candidates must hold a relevant doctoral degree in accordance with the University of Helsinki's regulations and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and supervise theses. The University Lecturer must have good teaching skills. Pursuant to the Government Decree on Universities (770/2009), appointees to teaching and research positions at the University must be proficient in the language in which they provide instruction, i.e., Finnish or Swedish. Additionally, successful performance of the duties requires a good command of the English language.
