About Moscow State University of Food Production

Moscow State University of Food Production (MSUFP) is a state-run institution established in 1931 with the aim of training up specialists in food technology and processes.

The institution gained university status in 2009, and remains highly regarded as one of Russia’s largest training facilities in food-related production and engineering.

Approximately 9,000 students attend the university, including a number of postgraduate researchers. Today, the courses offered to students are varied – students can enrol for degrees in many areas of science and technology that include beer brewing, wine making, food safety and medicine.

Degree courses are organised into six internal institutes, with a total of 45 departments across the university.

Unlike many higher education institutions in the country, all students at Moscow State University of Food Production are provided with onsite accommodation. The campus is well facilitated, with access to canteens, sports facilities, and several sports clubs and associations.

There is a small but growing international student community of around 500 people at the institution. Moscow State University of Food Production prides itself on its international outlook, and boasts links with universities and food industry giants across the globe. Students are encouraged to take up additional languages, and some grants exist for language programme participation.

Situated in the outer Moscow region roughly 11km from the city centre, students can access the Russian capital city easily by public transport links. It’s here that students from Moscow’s multiple higher education institutions head for some of the countries best shopping, theatre, cinemas, bars and restaurants.
